About Krachte

I am a new DM, only ran it for friends. D&D is the only TTRPG I've had any real experience with but that will change with time. I adore seeing what people can come with in terms of their creativity with backstories and characters as a whole. My big inspiration to DM would be Captain Robear as his storytelling and genuine love and care for his players is something I want to hopefully emulate and bring out for the table to enjoy. I run by rule of cool and will definitely break every rule in the game for people to play the characters the way they want to.

I became a GM because

Captain Robear, a D&D streamer on Twitch really got me hooked, the way everyone seems to enjoy themselves and the way he prioritises player actions showed me what D&D can be outside of standard modules. I'm enthralled by how much one action can change a story and I hope I can create the same feeling

How Krachte runs games

My GMing style is very inspired by Captain Robear. Situations and roleplaying will take full priority over the rules, if a player wants to do something they can absolutely achieve it with enough roleplay and effort. I do make most of my combats difficult and hopefully stimulating enough so that players will be focused and enjoying themselves, feeling proud after every combat. I do Homebrew a lot of creatures, items and spells in my campaigns often spending time to make sure that the tokens look good for my players as I want my worlds to be perfect for them. I want to give the people that play my games everything they give me and more.

I prep by

Pacing, I can usually have an idea about the next session by the next day and spend the rest of the week finding maps, tokens, characters etc. I also watch a bunch of shows and movies to help give me inspiration, Castlevania on Netflix is a BIG one but its not the only one.

Rules are...

Rules are you wanna do something ROLEPLAY FOR IT. I don't mind if my players are trying to move mountains if you roleplay that scene good enough you can roll for it. Roleplay and character moments are always going to be rewarded. ROC will always be the priority for me!!!

When it comes to voices

I use a voice changer I paid for lol, at least for gods or dragons, I often fall into the whole posh villain voice because its easier for me but I've been learning to break that over the last few months.

Krachte's ideal table

While I try to bring a lot of energy to the table I do appreciate my players being quiet and respectful of one another. However I love for my players to get into the RP aspect of the game and start living in the world we're creating together. Players that are fans of roleplay and fans of difficult combat encounters are going to feel at home here, expect nothing to be handed to you so just try and take it. I want everyone to celebrate when a NAT 20 appears on a concentration check and for me to inform everyone that you no longer need to roll concentration checks for the rest of the encounter. Players that enjoy the thought of this type of game will enjoy what I have to offer them.

I think metagaming...

For the weak. I encourage you to try and fail with your characters so that your characters success feels that much better. I'm not trying to beat you, I'm here to help everyone create a story that won't be forgotten anytime soon.

I think min/maxing...

Fun to try an accomplish lol, I have no worries about min maxing at my table because doing it will get you punished. I have no issue with someone wanting to run it in a one shot but in an actual campaign where you could ruin it for other players... yeah thats not happening.
