About Devin

Hello! My name is Devin, though online I’m better known as nervous_doggo. I’ve been GMing since high school, with over 13 years of experience creating memorable tabletop stories for my players. My style focuses on immersive storytelling where music, narration, atmosphere, and player choice come together to make the world feel alive. At my table, dramatic moments matter, but so do the strange, silly ones. I love building worlds that take themselves seriously while still leaving room for eccentric NPCs and the kind of heartfelt chaos that makes tabletop roleplaying unforgettable. My goal as a GM is to make every player feel like their character belongs in the story, shapes the world around them, and are able to walk away with a memorable moment.

I became a GM because

I became a GM because I love telling stories and having people enjoy something I made or worked on. Also the theater kid within cries for an escape.

I got started GMing...

I got started GMing when I was in high school. My English teacher gave me the 3.5 edition of DND. I used it to run my first ever session on my birthday where the players wore extra Halloween props such as an axe, a sword, a Viking hat, and several rings.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

My players would describe me as funny, cinematic, and roleplay.

How Devin runs games

I am a relaxed gm who loves silly games interceding serious situations with a focus on atmosphere and fun. I like a good mix of role play and combat with some sessions being pure role play and others being full combat.

Devin's ideal table

My ideal table is with a group of players who love to get into the moment. Whether it be the scene, combat, or joke. I love players who give me plenty of backstory that I can use in the story. The general vibe at my table is lighthearted with cinematic moments and plenty of funny improvisational moments.
