About Josh

I have been involved with TTRPGs since late 2019. I've been a GM for most of that time, after a friend told me they've been looking for games but couldn't find one. Fast forward to today (08/2026) and I will never look back. I love telling stories with my players. Together, we have been able to weave tales of loss, adventure, and love. I cannot wait to begin telling tales with you all!

How Josh runs games

I love games where there are equal parts roleplay and combat. I like to challenge players with classic dungeon crawls, where resources may be limited. I also like allowing the PCs to breathe and engage with each other. The narrative portion is something I feel drives the overall game and helps everyone feel more immersed which is the goal, right? I tend to favor combat that has meaning and not combat for combat's sake. It would be a disservice to my table to simply hop between combat and RP without meaning. I like to paint the picture of a battle so the players can work with the environment, drawing inspiration from those around them. I'm also a massive fan of loot. I love the shiny things and I tend to be rather generous...within reason!

I deal with rules issues by...

Open conversation. If there is a disagreement between you, the players, and me, the GM, with how I interpreted a rule: let's chat about it! I would love to come to an agreement on how we can make it work while still maintaining the integrity of the table and game and allow you to have a blast.

My games focus on...

Narrative moments, high-stakes combat, and genuine payoffs. I want a living story to have lasting impacts on the players.

Rules are...

Meant to be interpreted and used to fit a moment. If what you want to do doesn't have a specific rule, we can find a way to make it happen...I love cool moves from my players and highly encourage them to push the rule set to its limits.

Josh's ideal table

I love new players who want to engage with the world in which they find themselves. I also adore the intermediate player who mostly knows the system, maybe has some experience in TTRPGs in the past, and who likes to help the newer players at the table. I feel that helps everyone feel included and wanting to come back for the next session. I keep my tables light. I love jokes, I love having a good time with my players. I also love when we can get down to it and really hammer out an amazing session. My tables are also always, unnegotiably inclusive. That is a firm stance.

I love it when a player

Leans into the story. Really play with the world in which you find yourself. Interact in ways that you may not always think to. The world can change based on your presence in it. Lean into that!

I think it's a red flag when players...

Are always attempting to steal the spotlight from other players. I believe in a table where everyone can shine, and I do make it a point to ensure everyone has their moment.

My perfect party mix is

Players who want to RP for any length of time with each other or with the GM, and the combat junkies. I love running combat, so those players who jump into the action are always welcome. The ones who negotiate, discuss, or just engage the NPCs are must-haves for any good story.
