About Kuma
I grew up always being the creative writer in my family. I didn’t start playing TTRPGs until I was in the military. There I found my people, the DnD-loving, figurine-collecting, cosplaying friends that I still love and talk to till this day. At this current moment, I am running three different tables. One of the tables is a fantasy post-apocalyptic game, the other two are based in my home-brew campaign that is space cowboy-themed! I love(d) creating characters, then I discovered the art of making whole worlds and towns and even more characters!!

I became a GM because
I loved creating new characters almost to the point where I would just sit in bed and randomly create one. One day I was offered to run a game with a table full of friends, and I immediately fell in love with it!
My favorite shows/movies are
Favorite movies and shows are hard so I’ll give genres haha. I love action, anime, horror, romance, and of course fantasy!
When I'm not running games I'm...
I work out quite a bit! I’m currently learning one martial art, and plan on starting another soon! I also love to cook!
How Kuma runs games
I love creating full detailed towns and cities. I also love making those full detailed cities/towns come to life! My GMing style has been described as go with the flow and that there isn’t any bad ideas. I enjoy rewarding the players for their time and attention to detail. I also believe that every single player should have the chance of being in the spotlight. The min-max player that created an Aasimar paladin that does that absolutely maximum amount of damage, that’s so awesome dude. Then there is the other players who sat down and created a role playing master piece with their 20 in Charisma and is also very skilled in Intelligence. I will allow them to do that super cool thing that seems almost impossible, but it allowed the player to feel absolutely awesome doing so. I firmly believe everyone should have a great time at the table and be able to fulfill the need for magic we all so desperately crave. Whether it’s a combat day or just a heavy role play day, everyone will get a chance in the spotlight.

I deal with rules issues by...
If there is a discrepancy with the rules of the game, we will definitely talk about each other’s interpretation of them! At the end of the day, we are playing a TTRPG, and it’s truly not that serious if we bend or forget rules. We are here to have a good time!
I prep by
Getting drinks for the session, from water, tea, or energy drinks. Then I make bullet points of what I would like accomplished for that session and then write down some potential NPCs we could encounter and how they are as people and how they would react.
When it comes to voices
I would love to become a voice actor one day (as most GMs), so I’m 100% going to do my best to make each NPC feel different with a sore throat or have them with a particular speech impediment. I don’t really care if anyone else at the table does a goofy voice though!
Kuma's ideal table
My ideal table is full of friends! 3-8 players that are ready to have a great time, and have decent attitudes!

I love it when a player
Helps create the story ALONGSIDE me. Yes, I will build this magnificent and intricately detailed world, but if a player requests to incorporate their backstory into a specific puzzle for a bit of character development and to connect with the rest of the party, I wholeheartedly support it!
I think it's a red flag when players...
When others impose their assistance on others, there’s a significant distinction between offering advice and dictating what someone else should do.
I think metagaming...
Typically, I don’t agree with metagaming, but of course, it’s situational. Unfortunately, I can’t think of a proper example.
