About Frank
I started playing TTRPGs at the age of 12, right after the release of the famous D&D "Red Box." "The Dark Eye" (Das Schwarze Auge) was my first game simply because it was available in German. I have played and GMed throughout my youth, university, and career ever since. Due to the lack of a commercial RPG infrastructure in Germany back then, I even hitchhiked to England for the weekend just to browse London game stores for the newest, hottest releases—that is how much I loved this hobby. Throughout my life, I have journeyed with many different groups through the worlds of Middle-earth (MERP, Rolemaster), Aventuria (The Dark Eye), the cybernetic future (Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun), The Old World (Warhammer Fantasy RPG), and various custom settings using GURPS. I have introduced many new players to the hobby, and in recent years, I discovered Pathfinder 2e with my kids—using it to sneakily teach them about plotting, pacing, character development, and even project management! With a background in multimedia, my transition to Virtual Tabletops (VTTs) was seamless. I am incredibly excited to meet you all at my table and immerse ourselves in new worlds. Be ready to be challenged, solve mysteries, face ghastly villains, survive tough tactical fights, and roleplay with a vibrant cast of characters.

My favorite books are
The Lord of the Rings - It was the first fantasy book I read and no fantasy reading experience thereafter ever came close Among Thieves - It does the fantasy-mafia crossover so well. An undervalued book. Infinite Jest - for using language that delighted me every of its numerous pages
My favorite shows/movies are
The Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit - P. Jackson did such a great philological work that many critics did not get, especially in the case of The Hobbit Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are dead - What are NPCs up while the main action unfolds elsewhere?
How Frank runs games
I am an experienced GM who tailors support and advice to your experience level so everyone has fun. Aspects of roleplaying that are important to my campaigns: Dynamic Pace: The Story dictates sessions. We might spend a session on pure roleplay, the next in tactical combat, or mix both. Zero Fillers (for experienced players): Every fight has a narrative purpose. I rewrite or remove meaningless filler encounters from published modules. Failing Forward: Failure is possible, but it never stops the story. It propels the adventure down unexpected paths and you get the chance to set things right. Tie-ins: We will collaborate to weave your character's history directly into the regions we visit (if you so wish). In-Game Lore: I aim to deliver information through environmental storytelling rather than dry mechanical information. Roleplay Firewall: I appreciate when players separate player knowledge from character knowledge. Milestone Leveling: Progression is tied to narrative achievements, keeping our focus on the story. Mortality: Death is rare and and I try to make it narrative-driven in heroic games, but expect higher churn in grim settings like Warhammer or Cthulhu. Living Cast: I do distinct NPC voices, but do characters more (GM here not a voice actor ;D). Allies support you, rivals provoke you, and villains are vicious, calculating, brutal, etc. as the case may be. No PvP: By default PVP is prohibited. RAW: The default for a group of strangers playing together.
Frank's ideal table
This is a table where stories emerge and stick with you. Every player has a place here — whether it’s your 1st campaign or your 60th. Whether you live for roleplay, strange puzzles, or tactical combat, your choices shape the story. Fights are emergent, tactical, cooperative and risky puzzles. Enemies have agendas to foil, strengths to overcome, and weaknesses to exploit. Every fight is a little narrative of its own. Sound is part of the story. Music and ambiance aren’t background noise. They set the tension, the calm, the soundscape. We move the session forward together and respect each others time. That means no 45-minute shopping trips at the table — we handle that between sessions. When we’re live, we’re adventuring. You’ll probably love this table if you: - Want to collaborate and build on other people’s ideas - Care about the story and show up ready to engage - Like tactical play — positioning, resources, and teamwork matter - Are respectful of other players, the GM, and our safety tools All experience levels welcome. New? I’ll teach you. Veteran? I can’t wait to see your best ideas. The only requirement is engagement.
