About Jacob “Jake” Stick

I have been playing and running games for 20+ years and I love running games for more than I like playing in them. I claim the title of forever GM and I love it. I enjoy being the gamemaster and I have spent hours and hours reading books and practicing my craft. I have been running games for friends for most of my life, but I have also been going to conventions and running wild and fantastic one-shots. I love running games with a tactical and tactile space, including curated landing pages and minis with maps in the online space. I also love having props and things available for players in a physical space. Finally, I am a mental health professional so safety is at the forefront of all of my games. I understand that mental health is physical health. I am open and accepting, wanting everyone to feel like they have a space and a voice at the table.

How Jacob “Jake” Stick runs games

First and foremost, I love running games for heroes. Heroes can come from all walks of life and they may be a rogue or a scoundrel, but at the end of the day they are a hero. The world is not so black and white and I love nuance in the narrative, but I love seeing the heroes doing the right thing at the end of the day. I love player's engaging with the narrative in a meaningful way. The second thing that I love is having a tactical combat with minis and a map. I love players who engage with the map and explore and add things to the story. I love providing colorful descriptions to narrate what happens int he tactical space. Finally, but most importantly to me, I am a mental health professional and recognize the important of safety at the table. I love having a welcoming space for all people in all walks of life. I want to give space for everyone to be able to tell their story.
