About Lucas Wylie
Hi! My name is Lucas and I’ve been GMing D&D 5e for a little over two years. I mostly GM for my friends at a physical table but I’ve taken to using things like Discord and Tabletop Simulator to help some of my online friends get started in the world of D&D! I’ve been a player for about 5 years now and once I felt comfortable enough to run my own game, I became the GM for some of the more experienced players in our group/regular GMs, giving them a break while still introducing new folks to the game. I fell in love with GMing because it allows for me to expand on my creative writing/roleplay abilities in real time as a collaborative effort with my friends, and watching them as they slowly warm up to immersion and truly roleplaying as their characters and becoming invested in a story I've created is the most satisfying feeling in the world. I'll hope to see you in one of my games!

When I'm not running games I'm...
snowboarding, playing bass guitar, hanging out with friends or working. Lots of working and most of my free time is filled up with writing/helping others create their own D&D campaigns
How Lucas Wylie runs games
I love roleplay, with a big emphasis on sandbox mystery adventure and exploration, letting the players unravel clues about the world and the stakes naturally. I think very carefully about the story at large and the part that my player characters have in it, or rather, the effect they have on it. I put a lot of thought into the details that I do or do not include, and it is all a purposeful means to the end of immersion and inclusion of every character and their backstories. I’d like to think I’m pretty chill when it comes to following the rules to a tee though, since I'm often introducing new players to the game and value them and old players alike having a fun time over being a lawyer.

Rules are...
kind of fast and loose. I abide by the "rule of cool," and am of the firm belief that the core content is more of a guideline to structure your games around and can be bent/changed a little to make the experience more fun.
Lucas Wylie's ideal table
The table I like to run is one that's kind of laid back right in the middle, leaving room for serious roleplay as well as jokes and stuff. It helps to cut the tension of horror campaigns I like to run

I love it when a player
gets creative/really into their character. The more a player gives me, the more I can tie them into improv and story threads
