About Skye Snowwalker
I've been GMing for about half a decade at this point, getting started during covid-19 and having such a passion for it that I haven't stopped since. I have ran a call of cthulu campaign to completion and have two long term D&D games going. Both starting at level 1 and now being level 19 and level 20. I am highly dedicated to seeing my games through, never willing to simply walk away and forget them. Once I start a game, I'm in it for the long haul. I've made many great friends this way and have no plans to stop GMing anytime soon.

I became a GM because
I had played TTRPGs before, but really got into playing them during the covid lockdowns, since it was especially easy to find online games during that time. I played for a bit before starting to GM myself, and once I tried it, I instantly loved it. The process and creativity are so fulfilling.
How Skye Snowwalker runs games
I'd say it's a mix of intricate roleplay, tense combat, and exciting set pieces in around equal measure. I make sure NPCs have backgrounds, motives, and goals which all come together in a cohesive picture, even if that picture ends up remaining unseen. This means that even inconsequential NPCs can be interacted with in complex ways, allowing creative solutions and player choice. A ticket collector has a life outside of collecting tickets, a guard may have a family they want to go home to. And as such players can deceive, persuade, and intimidate these characters in countless creative ways. Having run multiple campaigns spanning the power curve, I've gotten very good at making combats just hard enough to be an interesting challenge that does put the party at risk, without being frustrating or tedious. Of course there will be some easy battles, if a level 17 party decides to clear out some rats in a basement, I'm not going add 500 just to make it a "fair fight." And finally set pieces. I quite enjoy creating exciting and unique environmental interactions. They're a bit hard to describe since I make them spectacles with creative use of VTT tools. Self destruct sequences to escape, burning buildings to extinguish, ship chases to partake in. D&D isn't just about talking and hitting, it's an adventure!
Skye Snowwalker's ideal table
My ideal table is one where everybody is invested in the story, their own characters, and each other's characters. I like to have sections focused on specific PCs. So an ideal party is one where everyone is fully eager to get invested in that character's story. And can feel confident that when they get the spotlight, everyone is invested in them.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Heavy characterization. If you like really diving into all the little details of the character you play, you'll be happy here.
I think metagaming...
Is fine up to a point, where it then becomes unacceptable. Discussing tactics out of game and then following through in game despite the characters never discussing it? Totally fine, it allows more tactical play. Pulling up the enemy statblock to exploit its weaknesses... not allowed.
My table is not the place for...
Any sort of bigotry or hatred. I've been in games where after awhile people casually revealed they're nazis. Full on "hitler was right" assholes. So I don't let any intolerance slip by. Obviously we're all humans, accidental insensitivity can happen. But I'll allow no malice.
