About Trey
Lifelong dork, I have always loved gaming. From board games, video games, sports, and roleplaying, I truly enjoyed them all. My bachelor's degree is in Drama and I spent a great deal of my life in improv and acting. My career is an education and I am currently a Middle School Principal and relish how much I get to see my students enjoying the world as they explore their own imaginations. I run a DND club with students, but also enjoy adult DND games as well. I began playing AD&D with my brother and father when I was in elementary school and have played many different versions since. We explored different TTRPGs growing up, but Dungeons and Dragons has always been a staple.

I got started GMing...
while running a club for my middle school students. Then when my friends wanted to play an adult game, I was the only one with experience. And I discovered my love for the GM seat!
My favorite books are
World building fantasy books. Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is my all time favorite.
My favorite shows/movies are
Star Wars, Marvel Movies, and anything with a good score. I'm a sucker for movie music!
How Trey runs games
The world is built together in our minds. It's most enjoyable when we can forge a shared path and story. My games incorporate a lot of imaginative roleplay. It's best when you can get into the minds of the characters and immerse yourself in another reality. However, combat is also very fun in the world of TTRPGs. As a play her at my table, you can expect me to take cues from the party. We will roleplay as much as you enjoy it. We will battle regularly and more often if it's what the party really loves to do. The best games have a variety of activities that keep the game fresh and exciting. No two games are alike even if you are in the same module. Come build with me!

I deal with rules issues by...
...improvising what I think makes sense to keep the game flowing. Then after the session I look up the pertinent rules for the future. All to serve the game!
I prep by
reviewing all the material that the party may get into. It can be a lot, so I try to spread it out over multiple days to not be overwhelmed.
When it comes to voices
I like doing the voices as a former actor. However, all of my voices start to seem silly and the girls sound the same, so I tend to do less of them as the campaign goes on.
Trey's ideal table
I like players who feel like they can be themselves. This is a game and we should be having fun! Roleplaying goes a long way toward that. I'm not very interested in maxing out damage or combat expertise. Improvisation and weird and interesting attempts to build a unique experience are my jam. If the table feels authentic, inclusive, and whimsical, then I have done my duty as GM.

I love it when a player
Tackles an issue in a wat that I never thought possible. I love problems that I can't anticipate. Challenge me and the table to keep up with your thinking!
I think metagaming...
is natural, but it kicks people out of the experience. We should be kind with those who are meta, but also look to discourage staying in that lane.
I think min/maxing...
this leads to metagaming. Humans aren't min/maxed beings so why should our PCs be this was also. The impulse to build a character like this is natural, it's just not that much fun.
