About Valerie
Hi, I'm Valerie! I am a transgender woman from Belgium and have been playing DnD for the last few years. I've been introduced to this game by a wonderful friend and a lovely DM. My first experience playing was the Lost Mine of Phandelver campaign where I learned a good bit of confidence that I keep developing every session. Although nowadays that's by DM-ing myself. I always have been fascinated by world building and adding to existing worlds so it was no surprise to me that I wanted to be behind the DM screen myself with the goal to facilitate a fun playing field for my players. So far I've ran two major campaigns, one that ran last year and one that has been ongoing for a year now. Besides these bigger campaigns I also ran a couple of one shots.

How Valerie runs games
My style for D&D is highly dependent on player synergy where I can adjust for my players their needs . For combat I prefer to keep things balanced but that doesn't mean I don't like creating some more deadly encounters from time to time. Combat is an important part of the game but not the only part. My wish is to create a game for people who play as characters and not video game protagonists. So I certainly encourage roleplay! I also want to encourage people to make backstories that really tether themselves to the world they're playing in. As a DM I will always opt to be as fair as possible in my rulings and listen when I myself make a mistake when making a ruling. Sometimes I can however let something slide if that results in a more satisfying experience for the player. So in general I want to help give players the options they need and to reward them along the way through sometimes tricky combat and roleplay!
