About Doubley

I am a data center technician from british columbia canada. Outside of work I love to tell stories with friends over a TTRPG. My first experience was in high school, a friend of mine had an older brother who offered to dungeon master our first game of fifth edition. It was an amazing experience to play a character and build a real story-line together with a table full of friends. Since then I started hosting a few one-night games of my own which eventually turned into two night games and then three until eventually I started my own campaigns. Since moving away for college I haven't had much time playing in person, however virtual table tops have gotten quite good and I have started running games using tale spire. I typically use canon forgotten realms settings and written adventure books for my adventures, expanding existing material to better suit a fun and engaging game. Outside of tabletop, I like to snowboard, skate, hunt geocaches and I drink a ludicrous amount of sweet tea.

How Doubley runs games

I love running unique puzzle rooms balanced with engaging combat in dangerous environments. I bury hidden treasure and set up secondary objectives so there is always something to focus on. I love to roll play memorable characters who give players real decisions that make a difference to the world around them. You can expect interesting, detailed tale spire boards filled with secrets and horrors to uncover. Traditionally I have used roll 20 for rolls and sheets but I am exploring D&D Beyond. I love to include honorable heroes and despicable villains with many layers for my players to explore. I prohibit all PvP in my games excluding dedicated gladiator fight nights. I often give out custom made artifacts to the party and my games are typically high-magic, with plenty of potions in loot pools. I like a party to feel powerful and badass, so they can confidently take on challenging enemies and puzzles. Looting after combat is handled round-robin item by item through a loot list so everyone gets a chance at the items they want. Sensitive subject matters are run past all participating players prior to game start and I do my best to accommodate all participants because having fun is the most important thing.
