About Jurgis
Hi! My name's Jurgis. I've been a DM for around a decade. I started the hobby while still in high school in my little home town. Of course someone needed to be the DM. Guess I drew the short straw for I've been addicted ever since. More recently I've been involved in ttrpg community building in my country building a space where people not only are welcome, but want to be. For me it's paramount that the players don't feel judged for that is what often holds them back from engaging with stories on an emotional level. My hope is that I can translate at least some of that home feeling into the digital space.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Mythic bastionland, because the low prep requirement, I need to find food, shelter and water I don't have time to write a campaign. Once we have the essentials I'll pullout Mothership and DnD 5e. 5e has a lot of books so some of the adventures will make kindling.
My favorite shows/movies are
My number one movie of all time is Trainspotting, comedy wise I keep coming back to Community (it's my “Friends”) and for the third I’ll pick something recent - Severance. I love how it depicts the insanity that is the contemporary workplace.
How Jurgis runs games
I enjoy tactical combat in appropriate games and I definitely push my players to think of strategies and to outsmart their adversaries. I like when my players earn victories because that is the only way they feel like actual victories. I am firm, but fair and believe in consequences, good and bad. If you are a player in my games my number one priority will be to immerse you into the world. Whether through npcs, descriptions or traditions of people foreign to us. For campaigns I work hard with players to build bridges between the characters and the world. I love when said players then know what they would like to change about the world or their character's situation.

My favorite trope is...
The Politico villain, using an agenda to further their goals. They have wealth, institutional power and social standing. You’ll have to expose and undermine them while they can’t attack you outright without a casus belli. This usually leads to an intricate dance between them and the party.
When it comes to voices
I try my best, please be gentle :)
Jurgis's ideal table
I like people who don’t play like their characters are an island. I love when they build bridges between themselves and other characters and the world. Listening to others will lead to you being listened to as well. I love to joke around and don’t take things too seriously no matter the genre so I don’t expect my players to take everything seriously as well.

I love it when a player
This mainly goes for campaigns, but makes a character that doesn’t feel like an outsider in the world and is open to feedback. Because when we are on the same page about what the story is (the characters and the entire campaigns) we make magic.
I think metagaming...
Isn’t inherently bad. I only do not like it when players use it to “win”, like using monster stat blocks. But I do like it when they use information that their character was not privy to, to make interesting choices.
