About Leon
As a long time professional cosplayer and a queer trans dude with degrees in theater and creative writing, I was naturally drawn to the RPG world because it's what I was literally made for! I started my Game Master career running home games and Dungeons & Dragons 5e modules for tons of different friend groups throughout my young adulthood. My favorite types of games are collaborative in nature, the goal being to develop everyone's original characters while developing the world through the context of those characters. I incorporate many homebrew elements in prewritten modules that cater to each individual player, providing twists and turns in their lore wherever holes in backstory are presented to me! My ultimate goal as a Game Master is to make fantasy a reality with fully developed lives that we live together as a table, all while traversing countless worlds across an infinite multiverse!

My favorite shows/movies are
anything Dimension 20 or Adventure Zone, but as for "traditional" media I'm a Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss, Steven Universe, and Adventure Time freak. I usually prefer anime or cartoons because I have the attention span of an animal unless I'm actively participating in what I'm doing (such as gaming).
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
player-focused, thorough, and whimsical (also creative, present, passionate, and don't forget humble, of course).
When I'm not running games I'm...
filming cosplay ASMR roleplay videos on Youtube! I'm also busy social media managing a local comic shop/speakeasy bar. When I've got downtime, I'm obviously playing the latest JRPG and making sure my heavily modded Sim family is still alive.
How Leon runs games
I enjoy collaborative games that allow every player plenty of moments to shine and further develop the original characters they create in my worlds. I spend a lot of time before each session catering the campaign to the player characters presented to me. I have more of a focus on roleplay and character development in my games; but I believe that combat plays an important role in that world, too. I'm not much of a numbers guy, I'm just a gay theater kid after all, so I usually plan combat around creating tactical, story-centric situations (with just a dash of nonsense and hilarity never far away). I enjoy creating visual spaces that allow the world to come to life as well. I will usually craft homemade maps, supply character tokens, portraits, and even cosplay as an NPC from time to time to keep things fresh!

I once ran a session...
where my entire party had darkvision and I forgot that the dungeon was full of human cultists so the tiefling bard (of course) pissed on all the torches they could find and rendered every single NPC blind. It was an obvious, ingenious plan that still haunts me to this day.
I prep by
writing extensive tie-ins to the world of the game through the backstories of the PCs, building maps for the session on inkarnate premium, creating new homebrew puzzles and NPCs to add to the adventure to spice it up and further develop character backstory, and more!
When it comes to voices
I have a lot of experience with theater and cosplay roleplaying lots of different characters, so I do my best to keep NPCs distinct and fun while also being true to their character! I do a lot of NPC prep before sessions, and then the PCs tend to bring their more comfortable sides out as we play.
Leon's ideal table
Players from all levels of experience are welcome! I pride myself on making the world of 5e easy to navigate for new folks and welcome feedback from those with more experience. I most enjoy players with a big sense of humor paired with plenty of angst, darkness, and a flare for the dramatic. The vibe at my table is very welcoming to player ideas and very socially conscious. I take extra precaution to make sure every player feels like they get their center stage moments while also being able to explore freely. My tenants of gameplay are teamwork, collaboration, absurdity, and most importantly, FUN.

I love it when a player
isn't afraid to be ridiculous! Absurdity is an important part of any campaign, as long as it is occassionally mixed with a hint of seriousness since continuity is to be considered. I encourage out-of-the-box thinking, creative solutions, and open-mindedness!
My perfect party mix is
a party that isn't afraid to be unbalanced and lose from time to time. I would not consider myself to be a cruel god, in fact I find the moments when bad rolls happen or when stats are especially poor to be the most funny and memorable moments!
My table is not the place for...
Main Character syndrome, PVP, distracting others from the game, backseat DMing, rules lawyering, disruptive min-maxing, and absolutely NO "No, buts" in an improv setting (unless something crosses a stated boundary)! We are a "Yes, and" table!
