About Ink

My name is Ink! I have been in the tabletop world for about five years now. I got into it during Covid with some friends over discord. I've played several systems such as 5e of DND, Mork Borg, Dungeon World, Dread, Honey Heist, and a few other fun one shots. I am the most experienced in 5e DND, and I love TTRPGs so much because it is an excuse to make a community. I want nothing more than to give that opportunity to other people.

How Ink runs games

I absolutely LOVE roleplay. I'd much rather it come down to roleplay over a dice roll any day of the week. My games are filled with more of an emphasis on roleplay over combat. However, that's not to say that I don't have the ability to create an engaging and interesting combat. I go back and forth on both loving combat, and absolutely hating it. On one hand, the abilities and what players do with them is incredibly interesting and engaging when it is their turn. I love how crunchy DND combat can get, but I also hate how much people have to wait around to play. I prefer to create high-stakes, quick battles that add to the story instead of alienating players because they rolled poorly for a turn and have to sit out for ten years. I think TTRPGs are about collaborative storytelling, and really letting your players take control of a game. You are there as a referee not a conductor. Yes, you write a basic plan, but your players are the ones who really tell the story. All in all I am always a story first GM, but I'm not afraid to throw away my story and riff off of my players if I need to. Oh yeah and the rule of cool is a given.

Rules are...

A guideline until they endanger the fun of the game. If a rule does this then it isn’t worth having that rule around, and should be thrown out or bent.

Ink's ideal table

Players who love roleplay, lore, and story first. Combat won’t exactly be light, but I do what I can to keep it entertaining. Any skill level is welcome! Disrespect of any kind will not be tolerated.
