About Aaron
Hello my name is Aaron; I’m a long-time lover of TTRPG and have acted as a Game Master with experience stretching all the way back to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (2nd Edition). I’ve been running games for decades, always working with my players shape unforgettable adventures. Over the years, I’ve served as DM/GM across a wide range of systems; from the brutality of classic D&D, the complexity of 3.5 D&D and Pathfinder, and into more modern storytelling centric systems of Dungeons & Dragons 5e (and playtesting for the 2024 revision), as well as narrative-first systems like Daggerheart. I’ve guided new players through their first meet ups at a tavern, challenged veteran players with sprawling adventures with world-shaking consequences, and built entire campaign settings tailored to the group’s interests and characters. My style emphasizes collaborative storytelling, exciting tales, and meaningful consequences. I want players to feel a lot of control over their destiny, but I’m not one to pull punches or fudge rolls. Whether it's grimdark intrigue, high fantasy heroics, or something in between, I strive to create immersive worlds where player choices matter and every session leaves an impact.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Right now, Morkborg, Daggerheart, and D&D 3.5! I love 5e too, but Daggerheart is front and center for me right now!
My favorite books are
The Lord of the Rings Harry Potter The Wheel of Time And Brandon Sanderson's books set in the Cosmere.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Woodworking, Forging, and seeking adventure and experience with my family!
How Aaron runs games
I prefer to have a healthy mix of roleplay and exciting combat. Each player at a table will shine in different role playing environments so I strive to make sure the content that brings out the best in players is first and forefront. I think that just as in real life there a always many approaches to solve any given issue, so while combat is certainly an option, I always leave open opportunities for creative resolution to conflict. I strive for an environment of collaborative story telling, I never strive to have players feel like they are on rails, but at the same time I dont want my players to feel overwhelmed or aimless. I want to cultivate an environment at the table of "Yes, and" just as in improv this is crucial to creating a comfortable and exciting table. When everyone is in their element and a table is building off each other, TTRPG can truly be magical. I think my greatest strength as a GM comes from my ability to vividly and viscerally describe situation and location. While I might not have the vocal range of a voice actor, I think I'm excellent at painting a picture with words!

I am for a vibe that's...
Chill and fun. Ultimately we are all here to enjoy our time and to have fun in collaborating on telling the best story possible!
I love it when a player
Plays to their story. What I mean is really embody their character and play to their wants and desires, it's so awesome to see characters come to life in this way and for a player to come into their own as a role player.
I think metagaming...
Is of course fine from time to time, especially when it makes sense for characters to have made a plan ahead of time. But I also think that truly special story's can come about from being present and playing to your character, TTRPG are not adversarial, this isnt something you beat someone else at.
