About raven king

I'm a guy who loves mixing history with Tabletop RPGs. I'm currently experienced with Pathfinder 1e, 2e, and D&D 5e, but I'm looking to expand into other systems, such as Mutants & Masterminds, Warhammer Fantasy or Humblewood. Right now, I am working on my custom world using Pathfinder 1e or 2e, and I wanted to expand my player base beyond my friends. So if you are looking for an experience where you cannot predict what will happen next and unique then feel free to join in.

I got started GMing...

Because I had a world in my mind, but wanted to see how other people would interact and explore it.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

Pathfinder 2e - So we could play a very long-term campaign because we are going to have plenty of time. Mutants and Masterminds - Cause I always wanted to learn that. Warlords - its a wargaming system but its always nice to have some extra stuff.

My favorite system of all Time is

Pathfinder 2e, its just a good balance of complexity and simplicity.

How raven king runs games

I am flexible, although it's a balance between Roleplay and some Tactical encounters. For example, one of my favourite sessions I ran was when a party I was running had to defend themselves in a court case by day and then fight off would-be assassins at night. So yeah, it's a very mixed and adaptive style that suits what the party does, as I like to keep notes of what you do in a session, and it causes a reaction in the world itself! So this means that yes, that shopkeeper you killed earlier on for that nice item can have an impact later on.

I deal with rules issues by...

Listening to the players and gathering opinions on the rule and seeing if there is anything I can do to help the players understand the rule or even get rid of it.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Denis Villeneuve - the guy who directed dune for all the plot heavy scenes. Chad Stahelski - the person who directs the fight scenes in John Wick, because sometimes my fights can be incredibly lethal.

I prep by

Going over last session's notes or video recording, checking the original plot and adjusting to said changes.

raven king's ideal table

I got like four to six people, I know what their characters want, and it's relaxed to start with. We review the session recap, where I ask the players to provide details of the last session and offer any hints on important information they may have missed during their recap. Then we get started; we still maintain that nice, relaxed atmosphere throughout most of the session, until we get into some serious stuff, such as a boss fight or an important scene. After that, we relax, recap and talk about stuff until we get bored and log off.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Political Intrigue, Warfare or resource management, then we will be a good fit.

I think it's a red flag when players...

They don't care about their party members and only think of themselves. I will give you warnings and remove you from the game if needed.

I think min/maxing...

Is ok, as long as you do it with a bit of roleplaying its fine.
