About BassettHound13
I started out with dnd in the summer of 2018. Since then, I've grown as a person, player, gm, and storyteller. I want to be able to have players enjoy the ideas I come up with on their own terms. I don't want to limit them, but I know there are limits to every story. Whether it be topics that are requested not to be brought up or whatever they wish to do takes away the fun of the story. Everyone has a voice at my table, but it's up to us as individuals to use that voice.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Daggerheart, Candela Obscura, and Dungeons and Dragons
When I'm not running games I'm...
I'm doing my best time create stories in games I'm a player in or planning my next campaign and/or session.
How BassettHound13 runs games
My style is a combination of rule of cool, actual logic of science within a narrative, and following majority of the rules. If something is cool is trying to be done or someone has homebrew they want to use, I'll talk to the player/players and come up with a compromise or let them have their fun with their idea. If it's something that defies the logic of the narrative or science (as in gravity, anatomy etc.) I would generally disagree, but still give a similar alternative. Combat is something that is brought up when conflict within the story calls for it. It's not a guaranteed thing within my games. I've had games that had potential for combat, but initiative wasn't needed. Ultimately, I want my players to tell a story they want to, but they need to understand that anything is possible, but not everything is probable.

I deal with rules issues by...
discussing the rule, asking what is desired, and do my best to compromise.
My games focus on...
letting everyone have a chance to hold the spotlight. Every player, gm or pc, deserves a chance to show what they are bringing to the story.
Rules are...
guidelines to follow. Having an idea of what to do is important, but if a rule prevents fun without reason, I void it or alter it.
BassettHound13's ideal table
My table style lean towards the narrative side of the ttrpg style. Most of my sessions feed the urge to tell a story or have an epic moment that doesn't necessarily require combat.

I am for a vibe that's...
comfortable but chaotic. I'm down for chaos at my table as long as everyone is having a good time.
I think it's a red flag when players...
try to bring drama to the game without consent of other players. It's one thing to add a twist, but if it's something that would cause tension at the table, it needs to be asked about first.
I think min/maxing...
can be fun, but you shouldn't do that all the time. Sometimes it's good to make a character that you can relate to or just do something simple as a refresher.
