About Lulu
I go by many different names, but you can call me Lulu or Lu! I'm a Black/German genderfluid girlie who uses (she/they) pronouns. I have an extensive background in Theater and a new shiny B.F.A in Acting. More than anything my background in Theater has made me love collaborative storytelling and character work. I'm a longtime GM for online and in-person games. Developed the love of the game from my dad running games for me when I was just a kid and actual plays like Titansgrave and Dimension 20.

My favorite system of all Time is
Monsterhearts 2 by Avery Wilder. It's the game I'm always in the mood to run, and probably the game I've GMed the most.
How Lulu runs games
IRL I'm an actor, playwright, and lover of collaborative storytelling which really bleeds into how I run my games. My experience with Improv gives me a yes-and approach and I want to give you a space to make choices and follow your instincts. My gameplay tends to favor roleplaying and storytelling, to the extent that I like to think of combat as a vehicle to convey story and stakes. I love twisty mysteries and puzzles, and I hope to learn and grow with you and your friends! • Respect is the first priority! • Improv heavy, and ready to roll! • Great with new players!

I prep by
Usually, I start just by getting ideas and jotting them down. Whenever I get an idea, I write it on whatever I can get my hands on. Then I like to dedicate hours flushing out a session, with a table of the events that will occur and things that are happening in the world that players might discover.
My games focus on...
The story of the PCs and how it weaves into a greater narrative. I view combat as a piece of that puzzle, but I want to work with my players to weave a story giving them choices that deeply affect what's going to happen next.
When it comes to voices
I like to play with cadence and pitch, along with a few dialects I have up my back pocket. Intentionality and parlance can make a huge difference for me as well. I like to think of how a NPCs background might affect the way they speak.

I am for a vibe that's...
Light but engaged! I love joking around and having fun, but I also really want to let those story moments breathe and be engaged in what's happening. Some of my favorite moments have been when parties have gotten really into RP and I get to see players shine.
I love it when a player
Is curious about following the story beats! If I dangle a carrot in front of you narratively speaking, I want you to be excited about it and interested in getting to the bottom of it.
I think min/maxing...
Is perfectly reasonable! I like to make my game challenging in certain ways and lax in others. If someone is really into optimizing (particularly for combat) I will keep that in mind and try to craft encounters to help them engage with the game.
