About Paul

I started playing dungeons and dragons back in 2015; however, I dabbled in it durin gmy high school years. I started taking up the DM seat almost immediately and have loved every second of it. I just finished a 4+ year campaign with some of my best friends and we have already started on a campaign 2 within the same world. My DM style is similar to that of Matt Mercer with heavy roleplay aspects but I like to lean toward a more horror/mystery aspect as immersion of the players is my number 1 goal. I also have a degree in management with roughly 10 years of management experience under my belt. I have always believed that good managers make the best DM's because managing a store (campaign) is easy, the tricky part is managing people (players). This is one question I am no stranger to in both business and tabletop games and with the laid back/caring type of person I am I have never had a complaint about my management or DMing.

I got started GMing...

with Critical Role! Ever since episode 1 campaign 1 I was entralled in the craft of providing/being a part of an immersive experience unlike any other!

My favorite shows/movies are

Dogma, The Conjuring movies, Fallout series, Fullmetal Alchemist

writing music, skateboarding, spending time with my family, or preparing for my next game.

How Paul runs games

Playing in one of my games can be summed up as a "truly immersive experience". I love to add little details such as audio and hand outs to help the players get into character like never before. Heavy roleplaying as well as intricate mysteries brings my players in on a phsychological level that I feel like most DM's ignore. If you sit down at one of my "tables" be prepared to think! Aside from immersion I am a big fan of horror elements myself; However, I am proficient and able to do many other genre's/themes of story telling.

I once ran a session...

As I said I tend to do a lot of horror elements. One session the party encounter a cursed town where all pregnant womens wombs exploded to spiders stealing their fetuses. The only time my players said, "Paul....the f*ck is wrong with you?" They enjoyed it all the same though!

Rules are...

I have a collection of house rules that we will go over in a session zero but the main ones are as follows: 1. Be respectful/Don't be a dick 2. Be open and honest 3. Be prepared/On time 4. Have fun

When it comes to voices

I am a professional voice actor (albeit small time but still professional) I try to do as many voices as I can for all characters. Some may repeat as I am only human but I promise I'll do my best!

Paul's ideal table

My table is very open and inclusive to everyone as I try to fit as many pillars of D&D into my games. Also I huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. I like our games to be a mix of various playstyles to try to cater to everyone but the main factor is taking the game/story mostly seroius. Of course goofy/funny things can/will happen and I encourage that but with my number one focus on immersion I try to keep everyone serious about the experience itself.

My perfect party mix is

a diverse party. Have each player take up a different "party role" such as tank, healer, etc.
