How Spencer runs games
A World Where Your Choices Matter I absolutely understand the appeal of being a group of nobodies, and some games are all about that, but my favourite experiences in roleplaying have come from the characters actions having lasting implications. I want you to feel like the actions of the characters are going to have lasting implications outside of the current session. Story First, Rules Second I'm a story first GM, and at the end of the day, I'd rather work with my players to create the best possible experience for everyone in the game. My feelings are that the rules are there to facilitate the story, and if tweaking them leads to a better story, that's what I'd rather do. Combat With A Crunch My goal with combat isn't to kill my players, but I do think stakes help to elevate the storytelling. I strive to create combat encounters that will not only challenge my players, but also allow their characters to shine through creative use of their abilities and the environment.
