Howdy! My name is Chris, and I've been playing Tabletop games for 19 years and running them for about 18. I've played and run most everything from the classics to the modern day stuff, from Cyberpunk 2020 all the way to Red, From Mutants and Masterminds to Masks: A New Generation, from 2nd Edition AD&D and beyond. If I don't post a game but there's a system you really want to play in, I can probably be commissioned to run it. I subscribe to a core philosophy as a GM: Be a fan of your characters. I will always get super excited about whatever character you play in one of my games and will incorporate what you give me into my world, so long as you're also willing to play ball with the game that I'm running. I am someone who hates irony culture, and while I will laugh and joke at the table, I do not stand for narm. If your character is having a moment and being genuine about it, you have my full support. If you try to undercut that with cheap humor, we might not mesh well as player and GM, and that's fine. There isn't a wrong way to play these games, which is always part of the beauty of them to me. I am halfway between a dedicated storyteller and a mechanics engineer. You wanna do something really cool in the story that might not necessarily have a one to one way to do it in the rules? We will work something out. You want to use weird, obscure min-maxing methods to have your character do cool anime stuff? Sounds like fun, just give me a good narration for it! You want to use badly written language and vagueries in the rules to trivialize the challenges I lay out before you? Yeah no, that's where I'm going to draw the line, but honestly good on you for figuring out yet another way the game's rules can be bent and broken. My table is also a safe space for people of all races, gender identities, and sexualities. I do not tolerate hate speech or bigotry, and if I see what looks like you using a character having prejudices as a thin veil for real world discrimination and marginalization, then I will give you the benefit of the doubt and talk to you, and give you a chance to fix it, past that there is no forgiveness you will be removed from the table.
