About Thomas

Hi all, I'm an easy going long term DM been playing / DMing for DND 5e for the past 12 years now a novice to the online aspect of it though as have always been in person games so you may have to bear with me. I've also just recently ventured in the world of walking dead RPG game and daggerheart to expand my library a little looking forward to getting started!

Featured Prompts

I became a GM because

I wanted to create my own homebrew setting and allow players to play in a creative sandbox that rewarded them / adapted to their decisions

My favorite shows/movies are

Lord of the rings

When I'm not running games I'm...

Usually gaming or printing / painting minis

How Thomas runs games

As a GM I encourage the role play side of the game bother in and out of combat the dream is to have a level of game equivalent to critical role but I am no Mr Mercer so slightly unavailable haha. But the role play is a huge part of the game that will be rewarded and any chance to slip in little conversations between characters rather than I go from a to b fills my lil heart with joy 😊

Featured Prompts

I prep by

Spending 1 hour preparing per hour I expect to be playing

Rules are...

more of a guideline

When it comes to voices

I try to make all characters unique / memorable whether its through an actual voice or just different mannerisms

Thomas's ideal table

Relaxed not too serious happy to have a joke around and engage with each other but then when the moment needs it a focused and engaged table.

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

engages with my characters / story, asks more about a character or takes note of what it is they like / do so they come back to them at a later date. It makes me think that character really made an impact

I think metagaming...

is okay for a player as long as it doesn't bleed into the character. Its okay for the player to know something is vulnerable to X but they need to think of a way the character would know / learn this and not just instantly use X

I think min/maxing...

has its place as long as its not taking away from the overall experience / detrimenting the rest of the party or making it boring as you can one shot everything
