About Philip
Hi! I'm Philip, and I've been a D&D player for over 8 years and DMing for about 4 of those. Long enough to know that the best moments at the table are the ones nobody planned for. I grew up on the kind of stories where the world felt alive, where every choice had weight, every character had a soul, and the line between epic and intimate could vanish in a single scene. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Witcher, that's the main driving factor of my games. High stakes, deep lore, morally complex NPCs, and a world that doesn't wait for you to be ready. Outside the game, I'm a professional singer and guitarist for 10 years now. I've spent my time performing and understanding how emotion, timing, and presence can make or break a moment and also how important it is to respect other peoples time. That carries straight to the table when an NPC speaks at my games and when I run the games themselves, there's intention behind every word. When the story calls for tension, you'll feel it. When it calls for triumph, you'll remember it. I also run games with my IRL crew on YouTube over at D20 Dilemma (https://www.youtube.com/@D20Dilemma) check it out if you want to see exactly what kind of shenanigans we get up to before you sit down at my table!

People are always surprised when I tell them
That I'm super into D&D and gaming in general. Because of the nature of my band work people assume I'm just into music and going out partying and not this.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Singing in a rock band and doing all kinds of graphic designs, I also do some work on websites. In general my passion is music and D&D is my favorite hobby if I ever get the chance to combine both of them I would be the happiest person ever!
How Philip runs games
A few things you'll notice pretty quickly at my games: Roleplay is where the magic happens for me. The moments I live for are when a conversation with the wrong NPC spirals into something nobody expected, or when your character finally confronts the thing they've been running from! Rule of Cool has a seat at my table. If you come up with something clever or wild, I'll find a way to make it work. I take the rules seriously and look them up when needed but if you want to bend one and everyone's on board, we'll make it work. Need a contact, a rival, a face from your past on the fly? Ask me. I'll give you a real answer on the spot and we keep moving! Most importantly, I want the table to feel like a room full of friends. I actively encourage everyone to be social, joke around, and get into it with each other. You should leave every session feeling like you belong there. I come fully prepared every week. Recaps, maps, handouts, and full Roll20 support. I run both homebrew and official modules, always shaped around whoever's at the table.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Martin Scorsese or Guy Ritchie
My games focus on...
YOU! (The players) I love to tailor make my campaigns that fit the world around the characters you create. I always want to work together with my players to help them make a backstory they are happy with and highlight all of that in the games I run. Everyone gets a little bit of the spotlight!
Rules are...
Important guardrails of TTRPG's but we can jump over them once in a while :) The No. 1 rule at my table is anything can go as long as everyone is having fun. At the end of the day we are all here to enjoy the game so the "Rule of Cool" applies.
Philip's ideal table
My ideal table is when all of my players feel free to talk and RP without having to be shy. I'm all for my players to even start friendships at my table. Getting people together is the most important part. I love it when players are interested in making their character and backstory with or without my help. I don't care how experienced my players are and I will always do my best to help them out in learning the system. Respect is very important. As long as everyone is respectful and comfortable I'm cool with my table. Minmaxing, Roleplaying... Take your pick.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Challenging combat and a compelling story.
I love it when a player
Pays attention and takes notes. I mean what DM doesn't :) Although it's nice, it's not mandatory I'm fine with doing recaps, I just want my players to engage with the environment, the world and the story. Again... Said every DM ever.
I think it's a red flag when players...
Make other players feel attacked or uncomfortable. Everybody is welcome in my games. There will be none of that here!
