About EldrichTea

Trans Woman approaching 40 at the speed of time. TTRPGs have been a major part of my life for well over 25 years now and most of that time has been spent in the DMs chair. I'm a huge believer in collaborative world building and a world that feels alive. I'm in training to be a therapist, so safety at the table is something I prioritise. This is especially important with the horror themes I love including. I'm a lifelong horror fan, and the key is giving enough to let your imagination run wild, rather than going for shock value. As well as building and releasing tension. Theres a reason some of the best horror films have moments of humour scattered through out and I love building that sense of dread along side the comfort of the group to lean on.

I got started GMing...

because I was absolutely besotted with the idea of creating a world for people to explore and build something in. Connections, a home, a legacy. Phenomenal cosmic power, itty bity bookcase space.

My favorite books are

Odd Thomas - Dean Koontz Sabriel - Garth Nix Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson Bloody Rose - Nicholas Eames

When I'm not running games I'm...

training to become a Therapist. Also being an all round nerd! I do LARP events, play board games, binge british detective shows and horror movies.

How EldrichTea runs games

Im a huge believer in the power of collaborative world building, both in session 0 and as the game progresses. We can build worlds that feel lived in, where each character has a space to call their own. What youll get is a worlds that has have a history and a reason for being. I bring empowerment for players. Making personalised spells, having your own home base, deep diving into world lore, an iconic creature youve always wanted to face. Bring it, and we will build it. Im a big lover of horror and where I include it, I normally avoid the shock value and instead go for creeping horror. The scuttling in the dark, the undulating corpse, the creature that just shouldnt exist. Safety tools are a must for any game to be successful, doubly so for games that include horror elements. As a therapist in training, I try to keep an evolving list of such tools. A living consent form, lines and veils and an open message policy with utmost confidentiality. Combat wise you can expect to have interactive enviroments, sub-objectives and goals beyond 'killing it till its dead', monsters that act with appropriate tact and plenty of tools like consumabled and allies for the group to use as they see fit.
