About HarshRhettoric (Rhett)

I've been collaboratively telling stories for as long as I can remember, even though I didn't discover formal TTRPGs until my teens. Since then, I've been in and run games almost continually throughout my life. From Heavy Gear to Talislanta to Legend of the Five Rings, I have a wealth of TTRPGs at my disposal. I know them all, I have run them all and every one of them makes me a better game master for the others. I cut my teeth in early Cyberpunk RPGs like, well, Cyberpunk and Shadowrun. Between that and Cyberpunk's newfound popularity, it seems like a good time to show people the Dark Future. In my professional life, I am an educator and a trainer and few things give me the fizz more than someone getting passionate about a subject I'm teaching them. My games are super-inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly. I have run games for kids and adults and I am flexible in both glorifying and downplaying violence and other touchy subjects. I always start with a session 0 to make sure there are clear expectations and boundaries for everyone.

How HarshRhettoric (Rhett) runs games

I am a master of atmospheric and environmental storytelling. I do voices and get into character and it's always a blast, but most people come back for the setting and the feel of the game. I am a huge fan of letting players help me build out a setting and bring it to life and an even bigger fan of giving them enough rope to hang themselves. The party is always the best monster.
