About Gavin
Greetings adventures! My name is Gavin, and I have been DMing since 2017. I have run multiple games that have spanned for years. I love a challenge when it comes to learning new settings and meeting new people. I am a huge geek, and in my spare time, I enjoy writing and archiving. I love reading sci fi, fantasy, romance, or a nonfiction book. I love going to concerts and meeting new people.

I became a GM because
I GM because I love learning about new people. I like to see the way people operate when put into strange scenarios. I love making the world fit the players and have them grow. If my games help my players work through internal struggles, then it is a job well done.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Sweet, Angsty, Profound
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing, archiving, reading, gaming, or watching media.
How Gavin runs games
My DMing philosophy is that Tabletops are a collaborative experience. I gladly take requests on what to fill the world with. I will also work with you to ensure that your character meets their goals. As long as you put in the work, I will let you achieve anything you wish. I think this is the best way to play because it helps you reflect on your character's actions and desires, as well as your own. I mainly play long-running campaigns, but I am open to one-shots. Most of my games are more serious in tone and have some philosophical and esoteric themes. My style is very "Monster of the Week". Most sessions feature heavy role-play (which can be goofy, dramatic, romantic, mystery, or horror), and by the end, there is usually one combat encounter related to your characters or the plot. I also enjoy running games set in different fandoms. Depending on the fandom, I might need time to research, but I can run it. Here is my list of fandoms I can run with little to no research on the world. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mA0__4SybUsTSIliPP5RdK_m02H24uvE_4r3rL1szOU/edit?usp=sharing

Gavin's ideal table
I am able to work with a wide range of players. The ones that tend to flourish are those that are focused on growing as people or learning through they're characters. Players who enjoy having a long-term goal that is either role-play or world-focused. The more you give me, the more I will give back. I am the type of DM that squeal like a little girl when I get a 15-page backstory. For my vibes, I tend to have a more serious and dramatic vibe. Though they're is plenty of room for goofy wholesome fun. As long as players know when to be serious or goofy, we will have a good time.

I love it when a player
Gives me a 15-page backstory or a long-term goal like marrying the barmaid or establishing world peace. Especially when they role-play and make choices to strive towards their goals in the campaign.
