About AceKokuren

Hi, I am Ace. I love stories of all kinds, with a strong pull to fantasy. When I discovered the world of TTRPGs, I felt like I had been missing out all this time. What better stories can you write, than those you get to write with your friends, where nothing is a certainty. I loved being able to craft worlds, cities, towns, characters, and bring them all to life through the power of words, (and a sprinkling of crudely drawn maps). Since I discovered FoundryVTT, my love for TTRPGs has grown even more, discovering the plethora of systems available for people to play in. I have been a GM on and off for over 8 years now, starting with DnD5e after falling in love with Critical Role, moving on to Pathfinder 2e and dabbling in other games, playing SWADE, AlienRPG with many more on my shelf yet to be played. If you are interested in trying something new, or something familiar, I hope you will join me in an adventure we can build, together!

How AceKokuren runs games

I love a great balance of roleplay and challenging combat. Letting players find their characters through RP, and social encounters is a lot of fun, and has such an impact on players at the table and their experience with the game. Letting them then flex their muscles in combat encounters is also a lot of fun where players learn more about their character's strengths and weaknesses, while easy encounters are needed here and there to show why the characters are adventurers, most combats need a bit of a challenge to make them feel real and grounded. Also, I always vote in favour of Rule of Cool over Rules as Written every time. Want to try something the game system doesn't support and is a realistic feat? Sure, let's figure this out together.
