About Cameron
I’ve been playing and running Dungeons & Dragons for nearly 20 years, and in that time I’ve learned how to do more than just run encounters — I craft experiences. My passion is Gothic and dark fantasy adventures inspired by worlds like Diablo/Ravenloft — settings where shadows whisper, danger feels alive, and nothing is quite what it seems. My tables are deeply immersive and narrative-driven. I build layered mysteries, morally complex choices, and haunting worlds that reward curiosity and courage. If you enjoy tense atmosphere, clever storytelling, and encounters that feel both cinematic and dangerous, you’ll feel right at home. What sets my games apart: Immersive worldbuilding — decades of GM experience designing unique lore, factions, and history. Custom hand-drawn battlemaps — I’m a fantasy artist and mapmaker under my brand Deeper Dungeons, and I bring original, tactical, and mood-rich maps to every session. Polished Fantasy Grounds integration — Detailed maps, automated combat, fog of war, and seamless rules support so you can focus on roleplay and strategy. Player-driven storytelling — I adapt to your choices and make your backstories matter while keeping the world alive and reactive. My goal is simple: to create a game you’ll talk about long after the session ends — a story you’ll remember.

I became a GM because
I became a GM because I love building worlds and telling stories. I like being part of a group that shares the same passion and enjoyment for the game that I have.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Creative, easygoing, and fun.
When I'm not running games I'm...
...always working on something creative — whether it’s hand-drawing immersive battle maps, designing unique traps and puzzles, or outlining future adventure arcs. Adventure design is a true passion of mine. I’m an avid reader of fantasy fiction, and I love channeling that inspiration.
How Cameron runs games
My games are all about immersive storytelling, dynamic roleplay, and meaningful player choice. I love crafting adventures filled with clever twists, layered NPCs, and living, breathing worlds where your decisions leave a lasting impact. Every session is built to feel like a chapter in an epic tale—rich with atmosphere, mystery, and emotional weight. As an artist and mapmaker, I design custom battlemaps tailored to each encounter, bringing the world visually to life. I balance exploration, social intrigue, and tactical, high-stakes combat that challenges you to think, adapt, and work together as a team. Whether you're sneaking through a cursed manor, bargaining with a demon, or fighting for your life in the depths of a forgotten ruin, I strive to make every moment count. Expect drama, surprises, player-driven story arcs, and a world that reacts to your actions. Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned veteran, I aim to deliver a balanced, cinematic experience that’s as exciting as it is unforgettable.

I deal with rules issues by...
...prioritizing flow and fairness. I make quick, reasonable rulings in the moment to keep the game moving, then double-check the official rules afterward if needed. I’m always open to discussion, and I believe the story and player experience should come first — with the rules there as supports.
I prep by
...reviewing notes from the last session, listening to music to get into the right headspace, and organizing everything I need to run a smooth game. I keep point-form notes ready in case the session takes an unexpected turn, and I make sure all tools are running smoothly.
My games focus on...
...a balanced mix of narrative, roleplay, exploration, and combat. I keep detailed notes and track player choices to make sure each session feels well-rounded and responsive. Whether it’s tense tactical combat or meaningful character interaction, I aim to keep every pillar of play equally satisfying
Cameron's ideal table
My table is a place for excited, easygoing players who enjoy immersive storytelling and working together to build something memorable. I lean into dark, gothic fantasy settings with serious themes, but I always keep the tone fun, respectful, and grounded. Heroic, story-driven characters tend to fit best at my table — especially those who want to do good in a dark world. I welcome both seasoned veterans and brand-new players alike. What matters most is a love of fantasy, collaboration, and having fun. I aim to make sure every player feels safe, heard, and has a chance to shine, no matter their experience level. I try to follow the rules faithfully, but I also believe in bending them to serve the story. If there's a rules dispute, I'm always approachable and open to discussion — but I believe the rules are there to help, not hinder, the fun. Constructive feedback is always welcome. I’m constantly learning and evolving as a GM, and I learn just as much from my players as they do from me. At the end of the day, the most important rule at my table is simple: everyone should have fun.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
...darker fantasy settings, you’re going to love my table. My games have been described as fitting that Dark Souls niche — filled with gothic horror, twisted mysteries, and cursed lands teetering on the edge of ruin. I love crafting stories where players uncover ancient secrets and rise as heroes.
I think min/maxing...
is totally fine — but personally, I find it more rewarding to play (and GM for) characters with meaningful flaws and depth. A perfectly optimized build can be fun, but a character with emotional baggage, moral struggles, or a messy past? That’s where the real storytelling happens.
My table is not the place for...
judgment, harassment, political debates, or rules lawyering. I want the focus to stay on fun, immersion, and collaborative storytelling. Everyone at my table deserves a safe, respectful space where they can enjoy the game and feel free to roleplay without fear of being shut down or overshadowed.
