About EQandCivfanatic
I began by GMing online political roleplaying games on Civilization Fanatics Center in 2000, which gave me my first bug for tabletop, and have come a very long way since then. In college and after, I moved into roleplaying games such as D&D. I was the first professional Dungeon Master in my county, and worked hard to help nursing homes, schools, and afterschool care programs set up D&D and board game programs of their own. When the pandemic began I moved almost exclusively into online tabletop gaming, via Roll20. Many of the players who started playing with me then still play in my games today. Due to the sheer number of games I have DMed before and after the pandemic, I have a lengthy amount of experience with D&D, Pathfinder, and Fallout 2d20. I have passing familiarity with a wide variety of other rules and games. My experience as a Dungeon Master will improve the quality of your experience.

How EQandCivfanatic runs games
As a GM my favorite things to present players with are complex ethical dilemmas, challenging combat encounters, and interesting quests. I tend to lean away from simple good or bad dilemmas, focusing instead on the areas of gray. When it comes to combat, I particularly enjoy putting to use strategies I've seen employed by players in the past to see how new players will confront the challenge. As for quests, I have a few published ones on the Dungeon Master's Guild, and quite a few more in writing that have been enjoyed by 15ish years of players with roleplaying tabletop. When it comes to voices, unfortunately, I am not as talented as others may be. I can do nearly every variation of American Southern, from Virginia to Florida to Texas. I also have some skill with Caribbean, American Midwest, and Minnesota. I can do Russian and German accents, but sometimes one ends up sounding like the other. I've also been told I do a fantastic Scottish accent when drunk, but I have no recollection of that event. Occasionally I enjoy practicing with new accents, but can't promise I'll always nail it.
