I ran my first game...
I started running my first DND game as a excuse to spend time with the lovely woman I now call my wife it was clunky and the plot had wholes that would resemble Swiss cheese but we had a blast. I have since been dming for over 20 years and look back on those days with a warmth
How Tyrus runs games
My games tend to lean more serious but contain a fair amount of humor. They are often a mix of epic dungeon crawling and political thrillers that ask you hard questions on the nature of morality. To quote a long-running player of mine about my style "evil is always a point of view". My campaigns tend to be darker without ever falling across the acceptable line and the goal is always to make things entertaining and fun for the players my games normally include the following. - Unless the game is setting-specific such as the Star Wars Saga edition my games will normally take place in my homebrew setting that won't be that far off of what you might expect in a normal 5e game on the surface level. - My games tend to be very narrative-heavy and will be helpful if you keep some notes. - While the exact nature of the themes and content can be discussed in game zero my games do have horror elements such as mild body horror and themes of shapeshifting monsters trying to take over the world. - My Campaigns tend to be generational with campaigns taking place in the same world and setting with time jumps moving forward your choices in Gen One can vastly affect what Gen Two will look like.

I deal with rules issues by...
If there is a rule conflict I try to go with what is most logical. Baring that its rules as intended over rules as written after all we make spelling mistakes even major cooperation's.
I once ran a session...
I once ran a game using a floating chess board and large plastic dice and laminated character sheets. It was a lot of fun but we all got cold as it was outdoors in canada in winter.
My games focus on...
My games focus on character growth and worldbuilding. My goal is to make worlds that are a escape from he world of unsolvable problems and give you some fictional ones you can manage.
Tyrus's ideal table
The thing we are all here to do is have fun. Fun is subjective but to me its engagement the story the characters the theme of it. One week could be happy jaunt through green hills and the next might be a horror show out of a nightmare however the contrast is what makes the other seem richer.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you are into the style of RPGs that make you question some of your own beliefs and put you into situations that have you debating what is right and wrong. You are going to be among good company.
I love it when a player
My true love is when I hear from a player they have started to figure out and guess my plot ahead of time its one of the greatest complements we can get in this field. I have even seen conspiracy boards from some groups
I think min/maxing...
Is totally fine. have at it. But have it reflect your characters story how are you this strong why does your character want these items. I have dealt with enough players to know how to keep a min max enthusiast like myself entertained while otherplayers can do whatever build they want.
