About Kevin
I'm a seasoned DM and have been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2007 (3.5E to 5E). I run games in person, dabbled with online play the past few years. Excited to spread joy and pain on a new platform. I have ran homebrew adventures, as well as Curse of Strahd, Storm King's Thunder, Princes of the Apocalypse, Tomb of Horrors (5e), Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, and Dragonlance.

How Kevin runs games
1. Balance: I prefer a balance in gameplay and incorporate a healthy mix of the three pillars: Roleplay, Exploration, and Combat. 2. Collaboration: I incorporate player backstories and motivations in my story telling. Tell me what kind of gameplay you enjoy and I can plan to squeeze more in. 3. Choices matter: I like to play out the consequences of your characters' actions and the roll of the dice. Succeeding and failing can be the same amount of fun. 4. Pacing: I like to keep the flow going and swiftly resolve any game issues. If there are any arguments, mistakes, or bad rulings we can discuss it after the session.

My games focus on...
FUN
Rules are...
Guidelines to create a balanced game experience, but not the end all be all
When it comes to voices
I'll do a variety of accents, but sounding like an attractive woman is hard for me.
Kevin's ideal table
My tables are geared towards player enjoyment. I appreciate all types of playstyles, from casual to rules heavy. As long as the group is having fun, all types are welcome. 1. Roleplay: all levels of roleplay appreciated. No need for a jaw-dropping performance, just enthusiastic play. 2. Combat: tactical, incorporating environmental effects. 3. Rules: bend not break, rule of cool unless the rule is too cool. 4. Etiquette: players are expected to be respectful, punctual, and attentive.

I love it when a player
Make choices based on their character's motivations and not worried about making mistakes.
I think metagaming...
Is boring, don't stress over optimal moves.
I think min/maxing...
Is a valid type of gameplay, as long as it doesn't affect the enjoyment of other aspects of the game
