About Fish
I've been DMing for over ten years. I'vebeen told that the highlights of my games are my rounded NPCs and ability to balance Rule of Cool, humor, and more serious themes to make stories that challenge your characters', well, character, instead of just your hit points.

I became a GM because
I love cooperative storytelling. It's thrilling to be able to spend time with other people who also love fantasy.
My favorite shows/movies are
I find that I unwittingly steal at least one plot point from a Godzilla movie in every one of my games.
My favorite system of all Time is
Savage Worlds. I don't get to run it often, but the sheer versatility of it is so exciting to me!
How Fish runs games
A GM's job is to help players express their characters, to tell a story with them, and to also have fun alongside them. I believe that a GM should never consider a player an an enemy, or strive to 'defeat' the players. Because of this, I run games that lean towards role-play and storytelling. My specialty is in creating fun NPCs for you to interact with. My goal is to have you thinking about your character's story not just during session time, but throughout the week leading up to them. Take a step forth and steel yourself- be ready to find meaning in silliness, and create hope in any kind of sadness.

My favorite trope is...
Romance. I know it's not for everyone, and I also know how to respect boundaries about such plotlines, but I am a sucker for stories about love, how it changes a character, and how it adds weight to a story. A lot of my games have ended with PCs getting married in game, and I think that's super fun!
My games focus on...
My games mainly focus on THEME and ROLE-PLAY. I do my best to let players role-play and become immersed in their role on stage. On my end, I like to design well rounded and likeable NPCs that play off the traits of the PCs. They also challenge the PCs to interact with the main themes of the story.
Rules are...
Rules are there to help give structure to a story. They guide your character's role in the story. If everyone, or even worse, one special character could fix every problem, that would be no fun for anyone at the table. Rules are there to guide an experience that feels fair and fun for.
Fish's ideal table
My ideal table is one where each player gets a chance to make us laugh. I am a bit more lax when it comes to rules, preferring the Rule of Cool, and love playing with others who like interacting with a story. My favorite tables have been those with diverse players who are excited to tell a story as a team. I want to provide an environment where whatever differences we have as people are washed away by the strength of respect and friendship.

I love it when a player
I love it when players connect the dots. Whether it be by solving an encounter in a creative way, understanding each others' characters, rolling max damage, or uncovering a mystery, I am there to celebrate the players' accomplishments!
I think min/maxing...
We naturally want our characters to excel mechanically in the areas they excel in lore. As long as your build does not clash with the autonomy or enjoyment of other players (ie, abusing persuasion rolls or status effects to limit others' involvement in the story), I don't mind optimization.
My table is not the place for...
The few times I have kicked a player, it is because they did not respect the autonomy of the others at the table. Every player is equally important, but if a person's playstyle demands that this not be true, I will need to have a conversation with them to re-evaluate their expectations.
