About me
Hello! The name's Hector, but you can call me Alex! I've got five or so years of experience under my belt in Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition, both as a DM and as a player! I love Roleplay, combat, exploration, and anything in-between, and I'm always willing to try new things in this TTRPG! As you can likely guess, I'm a geek, with a special love of anime and animated media! My favorite animated shows are Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Chainsaw Man, and Castlevania! In addition, I love character design, and frequently use Heroforge to create all sorts of things for my games!
GM Style
As mentioned in my "About Me", I love anime! Because of that, my specialties are anime-esque games, taking inspiration from shows like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Chainsaw Man, and Demon Slayer, as well as games like Metal Gear Rising! I try my best to make stories that make you feel epic, and narrate as if we were making our own little piece of media. I generally do lots of combat *and* roleplaying, blurring the line between the two at times, but always trying to keep a nice balance between them. I like to make big stories! And I like combat that matches that! I try to make every character fleshed out and unique, including yours! Weaving them into my plots and plans throughout the story of the campaign, tying them to any NPCs I can. I treat NPCs, especially antagonists, as real people, and characters of my own. So you can expect deep characters that you can (hopefully) connect with. With that, I try to really add life to my characters with my voice. A character's voice might be one of the most important things for me, so I'll do my best to reliver realistic or at least entertaining voices for you (sometimes using a voice mod and soundboard for immersion!). Along with making unique and interesting characters, I also specialize in creating my own monster stat blocks, creating unique challenges that differ from normal D&D! And for those curious, I'm always willing to share my stat blocks, once they're no longer needed of course. Of course, the most important thing for me is a safe space for all. And with any game I run, I'm always going to check in with topics that could be triggering or uncomfortable for my players. I try to use important safety tools, such as Consent Sheets, in order to make sure that at my table, my players have nothing to worry about (though your characters should be worrying about my wacky villains!). Should there be any issues whatsoever, even if they feel silly, I'm always open to listen and consider alternatives to any problems that might arise during my games as well. I may be your dungeon master, but at heart, I'd like to be a friend as well. ^^ Of course if any major problems or problem players arise, I will do my best to work things out. I try to avoid having to kick players from my games, taking a talk first approach, but if it comes to it, I won't hesitate to remove problem players in order to maintain a healthy space for everyone. Here's to happy gaming!
