About me

Hi there! I'm a unique kind of DM, focused on providing a fun and engaging experience with an emphasis on roleplaying in an open and unique world. There are stories and quests wherever you look, so don't be afraid to wander off the beaten path. My tone is best described as comedic cosmic horror. "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" meets "Welcome to Nightvale", or sort of like if "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" was played by HP Lovecraft, Stephen King, and David Wong. I play fast and loose with a lot of tropes and genres, mixing and matching whatever works. As an example: Think gnomes – those cute little tinkerers? Well, in my world, they speak a language called Gibberish, have gasoline for blood, and worship horrifying entities from beyond reality. Expect the unexpected! I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since AD&D when I was ten, drawing cool swords and making up stories, but I've been the main DM for my community for the last 15 years. I've run D&D 3.5, 4e, 5e, Mutants and Masterminds, Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet, JAGS Wonderland, the Serenity RPG, and an extensive amount of World of Darkness (VtM, WtA, WtO, DtF, HtR, and a smidge of MtA). As a disabled individual, I've had the opportunity to spend more hours on this hobby than is strictly reasonable, and both myself and my players have enjoyed every minute of it.

GM style

If you're looking for a dungeon crawl where the stakes are predictable and the tropes feel familiar, you've come to the wrong table. If you really want an example of how I run things, check out Rose City at Twilight on my Youtube channel! I've got individual scenes uploaded, as well as short clips from my games. https://www.youtube.com/@rosecityandbeyond Cosmic Comedy: I always describe my games to new players as Fantasy Improv Comedy. Ancient horrors whisper unspeakable truths, but the gnome barbarian just misheard it and got a tentacle monster as a pet. Expect the unexpected, because sometimes the most terrifying thing is... also somehow hilarious. Roleplay Front and Center: I believe in stories where your choices matter, your character shines, and even the villain might have a point (though possibly a disturbing one). I love weaving your backstories into the world, dropping plot hooks based on your quirks, and making sure everyone has their moment in the spotlight. Expect your actions to have long lasting consequences, even beyond the bounds of the adventures you're playing in. Open World, Wild Exploration: There's a main quest, sure, but half the fun is stumbling into the truly bizarre. Detour to investigate a talking mushroom circle? Absolutely. Want to adopt that horrifying tentacled beast? Roll for it! My world is your sandbox, full of weirdness and darkness to discover.
