About me

Hello Adventurers! My name is Paladin, and I am a professional Game Master and Owner of Paladin's Archives! I stream on Twitch and am the current world record holder for longest continuous TTRPG session a 440.5 hours along with 73 other friends. I primarily use Foundry for my games because of all the advanced control it gives me over games. I created my own database so character creation is very fast and easy! I make it my mission to give you the best experience possible with ambiance, voices, well crafted story, and a lot of focus on the relationship and experience at and between the sessions. I also give my players cool things such as merch, PDF adventures, and miniatures of their characters over time for playing in many sessions together! I am self-published and make adventures every month as well! I also like running weekly oneshots and play all my professional games in a West Marches world. I use Discord for communication and hosting games. Feel free to add me on Discord at: gamemasterpaladin

GM Style

I enjoy many playstyles from the nitty gritty survival dungeon crawl with lots of rules to games that are very rules light with majority of the session being roleplay. For monsters and NPCs, I favor adding a lot of lore to their ecology and using voices voices when roleplaying. I am a strong supporter of being more or less strict with rules depending what the situation calls for. If the rules or the VTT are getting in the way of our capability to play and have fun, then I'll set those down and can switch to doing theater of the mind or make up rules on the spot to keep the game going. I love using Foundry as it allows a lot of automation for combat, easy tracking and sharing of inventory, and use the playlist function for lots of ambient background and battle music. The games I run are all open world with all my games currently connected in the same shared world with the other players thus making it a West Marches. I love having new players join my table, and am very easy and slow to ensure players can learn the rules to play! I will teach you how to use Foundry as well as the basic rules for D&D. I never pull punches when it comes to combat, but I do ensure to play the monsters accurately to their lore and stats. I do give newer players more freedom to change their mind in combat. I do love very strategic combat though and enjoy having groups that allow me to strategize highly in combat. I slowly add variant rules such as flanking, shoving, shove aside, etc throughout the game as the player characters level up. I also love giving the players rewards others than magic items such as renown, pets, travel, portals, etc., but I'll still ensure to give gold with magic items being buyable in game. When it comes to combat, I do my best to create engaging fights and modulate as needed for the sake of fun, simplicity, or increased tension as needed.

I attended Paladin's webinar on West Marches. He shared a lot of great knowledge and experience. I learned a lot more about West Marches on the GM/business side. IF you are interested in running or playing in a West Marches style game, he's definitely the go-to on the subject!

Paladin was a fountain of knowledge and experience. I have been a DM/GM for over 30 years and have zero experience with West March. He made the material presented in his webinar digestible and inspiring. I highly recommend spending time with Paladin.

Paladin has done an amazing job of explaining the West Marches style of games, highlighting a lot of key points that may get lost in the mires. He's super knowledgeable on the subject of the style, and how to best manage them and make the experience fun for not just players, but the game masters running them.
