About Reto
Hello, brave maidens, fair warriors and everything inbetween! Like many on this site I've been playing RPGs for my whole life. A few years ago I quit my teaching job and became a fantasy writer which allows me to incorporate all the cool ideas and scenes that I've experienced with my friends. This is me in short: 😊 Reto (he/him) 🖋️ Fantasy writer (3 published novels à 600+ pages) 🌈 Ally until I die, cishet 🎭 educated in teaching, voice acting and classical singing 🧀 I hail from ye ol' Switzerland. You can talk to me in German, English and some french. 🐈 Cats, I love them. I have several fur babies As a DM of 25+ years, I value the following things 🎲 Be creative, be wild, be a maverick! And most important: have fun with your players ❤️ There is no hate on my table (unless it's against those pesky elves!) Everyone is welcome, feel safe with me 🤖 Rules are rules, but sometimes rules are just guide lines 🦾 you deserve a safe space. Talk with me about your boundaries and they'll be respected 👋🏽I love creating the perfect campaign for your needs and I work a lot with player feedback. Ask me anytime for a custom game/campaign and I'll happily provide. There is no better experience than players enjoying an adventure! 🧙♀️ If you speak German and you're looking for something to read, check out my novels, the "Hexentöter"-Trilogy ("Witch Slayer"). Available online and in book shops of your choice :)

How Reto runs games
GM style 🎭 Roleplay with depth 💖 Experience in working with ADHD and neurodivergent players 🌈 LGBTQ+ friendly 📚 Good at onboarding new players 😊 Character driven story telling like in Critical Role or Dimension20 - Everyone should feel safe and welcome at the table. No exceptions. - Grand and epic stories always start with small folk heroes - I love doing character play/voices and incorporating music - The players should always be the center of the story - I love giving you a combat challenge, but too much crunch slows the game down. Fast. Fun. Furious. - Depending on the system, a good social play can be as rewarding as a gruesome battle - Do you have a cool idea during play? It isn't really covered by the rules? We'll make it work.
