About Chris

I'm a horror-focused GM from London, England who loves building atmospheric worlds and taking players on unforgettable journeys into the strange and terrifying. From cosmic horror and gothic mysteries to folk horror and supernatural thrillers, I enjoy creating stories where tension builds naturally and every choice matters. My games are driven by player agency and memorable roleplay. I believe the best horror comes from characters making difficult decisions rather than following a script, so expect engaging NPCs, meaningful consequences, and stories that evolve around your group's actions. Above all, my goal is to make sure everyone at the table has an amazing time. I primarily run Call of Cthulhu, alongside D&D 5e, Delta Green, and Shiver, and I'm always excited to explore other systems. When I'm not running games, I'm a software engineer, husband, father, football ("soccer") fan, board game enthusiast, and blogger.

I became a GM because

I love storytelling and the creativity that being a GM nurtures. I have loved writing since I was very young and being a GM is a great way to have an outlet for this

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition, Shiver, DnD 5e

When I'm not running games I'm...

Being a husband and dad, playing TTRPGs and board games, making my own hot sauces, enjoying great craft beer and cider, planning games that I will run, listening to podcasts, blogging, working as a software engineer and watching football ("soccer" to Americans).

How Chris runs games

I love to roleplay different NPCs and will give them each their own personality. I also really enjoy challenging combat situations. But primarily my GM style is to build the story around the players' characters and allow players to lead the direction of the story. For this reason I put a heavy emphasis on worldbuilding in my planning for any campaign or one-shot. I love to tell great stories but most of all I want the players to enjoy themselves so although my games are often horror themed, I will add a slight pinch of comedy and quirky NPCs to any game for comic relief. I'm somewhat relaxed about rules but ensure consistency with the rules in place and make exceptions where it makes most sense.
