About Jon
Hello! The name's Jon, but you can call me Choco or Grimm. I've been playing Dnd 5e for about five years, and GMing for a little over 2 years. My passion is entertaining people and making them laugh and telling amazing stories. I'm very much a nerd and will make all kinds of dumb references to movies, anime, and video games. I like to experiment with various mechanics to spice up the game. I'm also trying to learn Pathfinder 2e, but it's a slow process. I'm very welcoming, open, and accepting. I do my best to make everyone comfortable and respect boundaries to the best of my ability. I pride myself on making lovable npcs and providing an intricate world. I generally run things on Roll20 VTT and use Discord for voice chat, and I do my best to provide ambient music and sounds for the most immersive experience. I have a homebrew campaign I'd be happy to run, as well as multiple oneshots. I also love teaching new players. All I ask is that you have an open mind, respect everyone's time, and come ready to laugh.

How Jon runs games
I love roleplaying and experimenting with ways to make combat more fun and interesting. My goal is to make you laugh, and maybe sometimes cry. I want to help you tell an amazing story and make friends you'll always remember. I can be very silly and goofy, but I respect everyone's boundaries to the best of my ability. I try to provide the most immersive experience I can and do my best to make you a part of the world as I can.

I prep by
building out my maps, programming npcs and monsters, and making a story while I listen to music to set the mood. I often look for cool monsters and then try to connect the story of how do I get my players to fight that?
Jon's ideal table
A bunch of goofballs with plenty of energy who don't take things too seriously, but get emotionally invested in the world and the story. However not so attached that they can't let something go.

I think it's a red flag when players...
start getting a little too adversarial, or taking things a little too serious or in character. It's all a game, and we all want to have fun. Nothing takes the wind out of my sails faster than someone getting upset with me for putting their character in a dangerous situation.
