About Andrés

I have been DMing for 5 years already, 2 of those profesionally through players who found me on Reddit. I studied Creative Writing and am passionate about storytelling. I found in RPGs the best way to mix everything I love about literature and games into one perfect package. An interactive medium where I have to adapt and respond according to what players decide to do. It's not just me telling a story, it's a whole group. Stories are my babies and it really does take a village. Of players. To make them the best version they can be.

I became a GM because

I had a lot of stories on my mind. And was bored during Covid.

When I'm not running games I'm...

playing board games.

How Andrés runs games

I am a very narrative DM. I love integrating character backstories into the story. I usually run official modules, modified to fit what players give me, and then go into a more personal exploration of the world. Character development is my bread and butter. I love narrating combat: how do you hit? How do you miss? I try to do voices for characters, though they not always sound the same. Exploring ideas the players bring to the table is something I'm really passionate about.

My games focus on...

narrative. Characters backgrounds if they give me something. Or making stuff to force character development on them.

When it comes to voices

I always try, but they sound different from session to session.

Andrés's ideal table

My ideal table is 5 players who really want to get to know their character while engaging with the story I throw at them. It's always "Yes, and...", you give me something and I hit back. Back and forth.
