About Campbell K
I am a long time Storyteller and GM that loves collaborative storytelling and world building. I started with Palladiums Robotech RPG back in the 1980s but soon fell in love with Cyberpunk 2020 and Mage: The Ascension. I am interested in independent and niche games like 10 Candles and Wanderhome. My playstyle can be described as grounded games with a rich, lived in feel to the worlds that I make. I am very much pro-player! I will be your characters biggest cheerleader and always tailor my games so everyone has a chance to shine in their own unique ways. The Rule of Cool and I have been friends since the Myspace days. I use Theater of the Mind approaches and maps to help alleviate the cognitive load of combat and other situations. If there is a particular house rule or a major cannon change in my games I make sure the players know it upfront and that I have some kind of running log for any changes that we can all refer to. I am well versed in safety tools and make regular use of the X Card and Lines and Veils. I strive to have an inclusive table where everyone can be their best, bravest selves.

How Campbell K runs games
My games feature rich worldbuilding, often a layer of the supernatural behind everyday life. I love having player interaction and also having players contribute to the building of the world. You might get some in world headlines or a unique screamsheet or perhaps even a curated playlist of what's been playing in the club where the meet is going down. I enjoy providing space for character growths and arcs even in one-shots. I will always take the time to discuss your characters goals and how the things that drive them, or that they are running from, might show up in the game. The frequency of combat in my games can vary based on the style and system. No matter what the case though, when conflicts turn in to combat I strive to make it engaging often with multiple approaches and environmental interactions. You will rarely find a 10' x 10' empty room in my games.

I once ran a session...
where a player shouted out "She is a very respectful and proper pig!" with an earnestness that is unmatched to this day.
My favorite trope is...
ordinary things turning extraordinary.
Rules are...
best when they have the least amount of dissonance with the world the players are in.
Campbell K's ideal table
My ideal table is one that has a diversity of backgrounds where people are comfortable and respectful of each other. My ideal table would be a brave space where players can take chances, enjoy failures and big up each other when there is success. It is a place where we co create worlds, stories, solve problems (even problems that w e make ourselves) and have fun. Above all I want my table to be one where people walk away from saying "remember that time when..." and want to come back for more.
