About Billy Yang

☆ Who is Billy? My name's Billy, and I'm one of those freaks who enjoy being a GM more than being a player. My inspirations came from film, comics, and my fellow players. My go-to system is Pathfinder 2e, but am willing to experiment and try out other systems. I consider myself fairly active in my local online community, and currently am GM-ing two long campaign tables. My go-to genre is adventure and drama. What I enjoy the most out of this hobby is meeting new people and exploring new stories. ☆ What content do I bring to your table? I use Foundry VTT hosted via Forge. In terms of material, I own several adventure modules and token packs. ☆ What qualities do I bring to your table? I consider myself a punctual and communicative person. I believe it's the GM's responsibility to maintain the ~vibes~ of not only the party, but also the player group. ☆ Everybody is a Hero Nobody should be left out. This hobby is for everyone, and I strife to foster a positive and inclusive table. If this all sounds good to you, session zeroes are free. Feel free to send me a message if you've got any questions (or if you wanna send me pizza).

I became a GM because

I enjoy telling stories! + it's cardio for the brain

I got started GMing...

right after I played DnD5e for the first time. I knew GMing is something I'd enjoy.

My favorite system of all Time is

Pathfinder 2e!

How Billy Yang runs games

☆ Roleplayer Roleplay has been the my favorite aspect of the hobby. I see GMing as a delicate dance between narrative and mechanics - they are both fun on their own, but become something much greater together. ☆ Combat My system of choice is Pathfinder 2e, which is known for its tactical combat. I love this aspect of it, but I do not bog myself down with the granularities. My priority in combat is keeping the flow and engagement of the players. I will not spend more than 60 seconds looking up rules. Roleplay does not end when the initiative is rolled, so you better bring your mean mugs when those dice are rolling! ☆ Exploration TTRPG provides an unlimited avenue for discovery of the setting and its history, though I do not focus on its breadth as I do for its depth. My favorite setting is Pathfinder's Golarion for its unique take on fantasy, taking inspiration not only from classical Europe, but also myths and legends all around the world. ☆ Try Everything Once I enjoy exploring new systems, they help me become a better GM. If you've got a system you think it'd like, feel free to share!

I deal with rules issues by...

quick ruling. Unless I know the exact rule on the top of my head, I will likely resolve complex situations with the simplest solutions (a single dice roll, ability use, etc.)

Rules are...

fast and loose! I use Rule #0 a lot, especially when players blurt out their wildest ideas.

When it comes to voices

I try, but I don't struggle. The best sort of voice is the ones with clear verbal cues.

I am for a vibe that's...

here to both hang out and play. it's more fun to play with friends!

I love it when a player

is invested in their character. Passion is infectious, and it brings the energy to the table like nothing else.

I think metagaming...

is alright, given it does not get in the way of your & other players' enjoyment.
