About Villagelder
I have been a Forever Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons, in all editions after the Whitebox, for over 35 years. I love this game. As a former actor (many, many years ago) I relish the storytelling, heroic fantasy, and kingdom warfare. Most of all, I always work to make an enjoyable game for all at the table by defining the type of characters, adventures, and stories we want to make. It's not just my game; it's not just your game; it's our game. Come join me. Tell your story, make our stories epic, battles legendary, and our adventures fun!

How Villagelder runs games
I love to craft adventures both overland and in dungeons. My games focus on exploration and combat with a moderate amount of story to tie things together. My current setting will be high fantasy that will include both PC adventuring and rulers of kingdoms with fantasy mass combat! This will also feature a living gameworld (with dozens of players from other sessions) where your heroes and monarchs will have an effect on the world.

I deal with rules issues by...
by using Rules as Written. If there is debate, I rule in the moment and ask that any issues be addressed outside of game in Discord.
I once ran a session...
all the players jumped into a dark hole thinking it was some kind of chute, but actually contained a sphere of annihilation. The entire party was TPK'd.
My games focus on...
exploration and combat with a good story to tie it together.
Villagelder's ideal table
You will like my table if you like: • Teamwork and accessible missions • To grab onto the DM hooks and clues • A threaded story with lots of choices (but not completely open world) • Having fun at the table while taking the combat and story seriously • Advancing your heroic character from level 1-30 and (optional) kingdom warfare and administration You will not like my table if you want to: • Hog the spotlight or explore solo (including familiars, et al.) • Talk over people or tell others what to do • Have graphic content including gore, torture, sexual content, et al. • Have a wide-open world with no story or randomly generated exploration • Have unsanctioned player versus player including thievery, backstabbing, combat, bickering, and spellcasting • Parse rules out of context or debate rules

I love it when a player
Is imaginative - with their backstory, their role-playing, or their feature use and tactics.
I think min/maxing...
is okay as long as you have a good connected story and are not taking features/rules out of context.
My table is not the place for...
Telling others how to play their characters or debating the rules.
