About me

I started young so I’ve been Game Mastering for 30 years now! I really enjoy world building and creating thrilling scenarios and presenting them to my players. I enjoy roleplaying with both experienced players and also introducing this amazing hobby to new players. I have a lot of experience with games set in the Warhammer Old World and also the Warhamer 40,000 universe. However, I also really like RuneQuest, Call of Cthulhu and 4th Edition Legend of the Five Rings. In truth though I am happy to GM in basically any system, and I have played and GM’d many, many different systems.

GM Style

My GMing style is very character and story focused. Rules provide a good framework for players but I am flexible with them if it helps drive the story forward. I like to make sure combat has stakes and is dynamic, but also feels dangerous and there is the possibility of lethal consequences. I want players to feel like their characters’ choices matter and aren’t constrained to a set narrative path. I enjoy creating environments populated by NPCs that react organically to the players choices so the players can become immersed in the world. Above all else roleplaying should be fun for the whole group. I have played in clubs which had strict 3-4 hour sessions so have gotten a lot of experience with pacing my games appropriately. Equally a lot of my own groups with close friends over the years have had mammoth all day sessions, so I have developed stamina for GMing into the early hours! I generally use Roll20 for online roleplaying for maps and presenting handouts, supplemented with Zoom for face to face interaction.
