Started playing 2nd ed D&D in high school 89 - 93 and also DM'd many games ( i also loved psionics then even though it was mad complex), played cyberpunk, G.U.R.P.S., paranoia and many others. when 3rd edition came out i played and ran many adventures (3.0 psionics was horrible) and 3.5 was amazing 3.5 psionics was so much better. I played 4th ed and was bored with it in 3yrs due to it being basically a mini's game on with story line. Pathfinder came and omg it was awesome, dream-scarred press psionics awesome. played and GM'd for many years since. Most of my games after high school were at the local gaming shop and friends homes. i have run games for as few as 3 and as many as 10 players. I later found roll20 and foundryvtt i much prefer foundry but i do pay for the pro roll20. I am a GM for GRIPNR currently and am liking their take on 5e. though because of my availability between work and free time many of my scheduled games there dont run. So i came back here after a long hiatus to see if i can pick up some paid games through here and roll20 too.

How Bentchezgrater runs games

You will get some voice acting from me during Role-play, I love seeing players interact with each other, I like to hear everyone having a good time. I tend to run modules and premade adventures and have a few things I have created myself or adapted from PC games i have played. I try to run my games by RAW but in many instances i use my own RAI judgement unless someone can come up with an official write up on the intent of a writing in question.

I deal with rules issues by...

doing what i feel and think is correct at the moment and have someone look up the detail in the background. then in future events correct any mistakes by not repeating them.

Rules are...

Mostly guidelines, sometimes and I mean only sometimes rules lawyers can slow down the game a lower the fun. The rules are there to put parameters on actions in within the limits of the game.

When it comes to voices

I try to give a different voice to each npc but like cartoons that use a handful of voice actors many sound similar.

Bentchezgrater's ideal table

I would like my players to all get along and work together not against each other, unless I'm running arena games that's a whole different ball game. I like my players to have a working knowledge of their character and what they can do, this show initiative. Though I don't expect this of new players and will help them to get to know the abilities of their character as best I can.
