About Tom Davis (he/him)

Hey there! I'm a Canadian actor, voice actor, and writer based in Toronto and have spent a solid majority of my life playing any kind of tabletop RPG I could get my hands on. As a DM I love the storytelling aspect of these games, especially when collectively we can tell a gripping tale together! A big fan of creative storytelling, and willing to go against the rules if a creative idea would have a more dramatic outcome. Pull up a chair, and let's tell a story together!

I became a GM because

Stories are what make us profoundly human. Being able to tell stories that will last years into the future, reminiscing with friends about past campaigns, all of these things connect us as humans. That is the most rewarding part of GMing to me.

I got started GMing...

back in college due to my friend's interest in D&D. I ran a one-shot for them that they loved, which gave me the confidence to try it out on a regular basis. Fast forward to 2020, with the pandemic I needed something to both occupy my time and help out with finances. I've been DMing ever since!

How Tom Davis (he/him) runs games

As an actor, I love getting into character and interacting with people in quirky and fun ways. As a voice actor, my character voices are wide, varied, and provide a tapestry for you to place your character's story upon. As a writer, it's my duty to you, the player, to weave your story into my own. Above all else, my GM style isn't about me. It's about what you, as a player need and want in their games. If your play-style wants exciting and dynamic combat, then I can provide that. If you are starting out on your first foray into RPG's and want to take a backseat to the action, I will respect that. Regardless of your play-style, I aim to make it my top priority.

When it comes to voices

I personally do character voices for my NPC's, just to differentiate them in this medium. However, there's no pressure for you as the player to come in with a particular accent or voice. Play to your comfort level!

Tom Davis (he/him)'s ideal table

I like when everyone is bouncing ideas off each other, collaborating on their decision making as a group and "yes, and"-ing off various descriptions given by both GM and player alike. Above all else, respect is crucial at my tables. We're here for a fun time, and any time someone crushes that fun, that's more than an excuse for a boot.

I love it when a player

Descibes what their character does, from finishing moves, to basic day to day routine. It helps me as a GM to have more options to interact with that character.
