About Asprawl

Hey! I'm Zach, Catherine, Asprawl. Any of the above really. I've been GMing for many moons, or well many for me, since i was around 13 or so. So a grand 6 years of GMing has fallen into my hands as I've navigated running for problem players, funny players and more serious players all in plentitude. I tend to run campaigns to be more "Serious, with humor found in the cracks of hilarity that emerge", or at least how I'd like to word it. I run games that are serious, but always have time for humor is probably a better way of saying it. Combat is always a mainstay of my campaigns, and I tend to always run combats on the more difficult side of things, aiming for players to be challenged with the threat of dying being very real, however an outstanding air of victory and hope filling the openings the despair leaves, as i always aim to let the party leave the fight, not always unscathed :3. That isn't to say that roleplay is completely abandoned by me, as its definitely not the case. I love my roleplay, its just I've found that letting players interact with characters at their own pace is a lot better then trying to force the plot moving with an NPC that is overly zealous with their dialogue. I'm definitely of the point of mind that players shouldn't be forced into conversations they don't want to have

I got started GMing...

When I'm not running games I'm...

Uhh, theres things you can do other then run games? Oh yeah, reading up on game design and writing

How Asprawl runs games

I run heavily homebrewed adventure paths! Either from Pathfinder1e, Pathfinder2e or DND5e. I tend to convert most of these to Pathfinder2e, aiming to make them difficult stories of triumph. I love Horror but won't shy away from the more fantastical elements of fantasy. I tend to run more linear campaigns, ones that focus more on the structure and overarching story rather than ones focused on the individual characters, but that's also because most of the people I've ran for tend to prefer it that way. Not to say I can't run a more sandboxy game :3 I think the general thing that people like about me running is the general vibe i present, I'm friendly and accepting of pretty much everyone, I flat out do not discriminate.

When it comes to voices

alas I'm horribly British, with what has been described as a posh londoner accent, it haunts my every voice.

Asprawl's ideal table

I vibe with most people in all honesty - So as long as you aren't bigoted in any way we'll have a grand old time

I think min/maxing...

Is fine to an extent - don't feel afraid to build a strong character, just remember to build the backstory to fit
