About Arman Altinoz

I love making sound effects, voices and accents. I use ambient sounds, dynamic music and a lots of visual references in my games. Oh and Rule of Cool applies %90 of the time. I don't use pre-created modules or campaigns. At session zero, I give my players a big list of questions (85) about their characters. This helps the players to bond with their characters and understand the characters' motivations. After they give me their answers, I study their background and add plot hooks to my main storyline. All my games are for mature (+21) players.

I got started GMing...

because no one else wanted to GM. Now that's not true :) I enjoy creating situations and setpieces that can extract some sincere emotions from my players. It can be happiness, fear, sorrow, curiosity, anger. Whatever the emotion, I love when it is real and genuine.

People are always surprised when I tell them

that I'm a geek and have Asperger's.

When I'm not running games I'm...

creating them.

How Arman Altinoz runs games

I enjoy high stakes role play scenes with a lot of pressure. Political intrigues, detective work, exploration (if setting allows) are also in my arsenal. Tactical and realistic combat that demands %100 from the players. I describe gore and violence in high detail. I love meticulously creating scene specific battle maps, and setting specific world maps. And there will be a ton of trigger warnings in most my games.

I prep by

Writing NPCs, drawing battle maps, finding suitable ambient sounds and music, balancing combat, and giving one more look to the character sheets to balance social and/or combat encounters.

Rules are...

essential until they're not.

When it comes to voices

I love making them.

Arman Altinoz's ideal table

At my table fun, collective story telling and world building are most important things. Choices and actions of players wil have an impact to the game world and how the players/party percieved by NPCs. I love creating unexpected, but subtly hinted plot twists. My combat encounters are intense and tactical. And my games are not for faint hearted. In combat encounters I describe violence and gore in high detail. I have created a homebrew system that allows players to have maximum freedom in character creation. I would like to play with experienced players who would enjoy high tension dialogues, brutal combat encounters, planning of heists and mission, and gritty settings. I love when my players surprise me with a solution that I haven't think of.
