About Carol
I’m an ’80s kid who somehow grew up when I wasn’t looking. I’ve always been a big nerd at heart, but I didn’t discover TTRPGs until my husband introduced me to Critical Role and ran a game for me and our daughter in 2024. I fell hard for D&D. Before long, I was joining local Discord groups, driving to strangers’ houses to play every system I could find, and feeling more like a college kid on an adventure than a frumpy mom in her 40s. Sitting down with people I’d never have approached in everyday life- and immediately going on a quest together- was exhilarating. I was hooked. When Daggerheart released, I devoured the core rules and knew I didn’t want to wait for someone else to run it. I stepped up to GM. Now I run a Daggerheart campaign for my family and host D&D one-shots for “Nerds Night Out” at my local brewery. After playing The Sablewood Messengers with Rob Duke, I joined the Saga Forge community and felt inspired to bring my games to a wider audience online. I love roleplaying, spotlighting my players, and celebrating every twist and turn I never saw coming. I’m a huge fan of my players, and I want every table to feel welcoming, collaborative, and full of wonder. Let’s play!

When I'm not running games I'm...
weaving together seed beads for jewelry and art objects. They are teensy, tiny beads, and I love how they can be used as pixels in a greater picture.
How Carol runs games
I’d describe my style as Player‑ and Experience‑Focused. I like to match the group’s vibe and play in the space that feels the most fun. I enjoy a good, challenging combat to keep the energy up, but I absolutely fangirl when players lean into narrative roleplay. And if things ever start to feel stale, I’m not above kicking some butt until morale improves. ;) My games lean adventure‑forward, with only the lightest dip into grimdark when it serves the story. Above all, I aim to create a safe, welcoming, and joyful table for everyone. LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent players are warmly welcomed. I use tools like the Deck of Player Safety to help keep play kind, respectful, and collaborative.

When it comes to voices
I try. I really try ;). I think of it as making a big fool out of myself, so you don't have to.
Carol's ideal table
I love the weird table. Give me people who would never normally hang out, and let's play together and have a great time!
