About Addison Mosby

Hey there! My name is Addison and I have been Dming and playing for over 10 years. I started in dnd 3.5 as a player. Eventually graduating into a DM. I have played and run many RPGs such as; Call of Cathulu, CosmereRPG, Dungeons and Dragons, Morkborg, Cyberpunk Red, Iron Kingdoms and more! I have spent many hours prepping games, making maps and more. I have even done private sessions for 8+ people while getting compensated for it. (Teaching 5, 13 year olds is a workout but so rewarding.) I personally bartend as a day job to get me by. I have a consistent world I have made and been running in for 6 years. I love teaching and welcoming people to my table for an immersive experience. I love using music and roll play to draw people into the moment to create memorable moments. I love all things Brandon Sanderson so I have been looking forward to running the Cosmere RPG. I have tested the content and have been backing it for some time. I would love to provide an experience in the world who want it! Cheers, and I look forward to the stories we get to make!

I became a GM because

There is nothing like explosive laughter after a silly roll of the dice, or the intense and focused rollplay as the fate of the world draws ever near. Its the people, and the experience we get to make together. There is nothing else like it.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Bartending and slinging drinks, Or I might be reading a fantasy novel. Maybe playing one of the thousands of games I have. in-between all of that, the dishes...

How Addison Mosby runs games

For me RPGs are about the collaborative story with all of the risk involved. I thrive with high stakes moments and choices through roll play. Combat is but a facet of the grand story I want to tell with you. I will immerse you with soundtracks and descriptive detail, while you make world shattering decisions. With enough time to loot, and create an empire if you so desire.

I deal with rules issues by...

finding the most fun way through. Often a rules as written approach can feel restricting when rollplay and chaos is introduced. If the rule helps the player than of course I will give it to them, but often I try to find the best path forward that will support the story and players.

I prep by

creating a narrative intro. I find that setting the scene with a one or two minute introduction to the scene or moment can really bring everyone into that collective immersion. Of course loads of notes I might not use.

Addison Mosby's ideal table

My ideal table would look like friendly and welcoming faces around the table eager to rollplay and roll dice! Each person is willing to be goofy and serious all at the same time while playing. Ideally everyone is encouraging of each other, and makes space so that everyone has a time to shine and do what they want to do! I love when players aren't afraid to make decisions and tell me how they want to approach a moment or story. It also helps when some players are very familiar with the game system and can help one another.

I am for a vibe that's...

Excited and immersed. The lights are low, the music thrums in your chest. Your eyes are focused on the task, and not a thought about the real world is on anyone's mind.

I think it's a red flag when players...

take things personally. I hope to cultivate a space that allows players to interact with grace and understanding. I hope that players understand that choices made within the game are not directed toward real life. Obviously if a PVP situation happens out of the blue, then we got to talk Lol.

My table is not the place for...

Random Murder hoboing, yelling, insulting, disrespect etc. Respect for one another is a must, and that goes for the time that everyone is putting into spending with one another.
