About Connor

Hey there! I'm Connor, otherwise known as Acting GM. I started out GMing because I wanted desperately to play Warhammer Fantasy RPG back in 2016, since then I became my friend group's Forever GM. I absolutely love roleplaying and after a few years of GMing for friends and friends of friends, I've decided to branch out a bit more and share my passion for TTRPGs with others!

My favorite system of all Time is

Warhammer Fantasy 2e is by far my favourite system of all time, it's the system I started with, takes place in a setting I love, and really gives the gritty, grounded fantasy that I enjoy most. It's also the first system I GM'd and cut my teeth on, so holds a special place in my heart in many ways.

How Connor runs games

My GMing style is heavily influenced by the system being used and the campaign being run! If we're playing Warhammer Fantasy 4e, I'll play to the strengths of the system with combat being nearly always lethal, the atmosphere being grim and bleak, defeating a minor daemon is a stupendous achievement, and so on! Conversely if the game is high adventure in Pathfinder 2e, the party can expect encounters to be a challenge, and their triumphs to bring about great change to the local area and maybe even the world! This being said, I come from a background as a writer and game designer, with a love for compelling stories, so expect a focus on the stories in most games. As I've GM'd for a great deal of new and newer players I am very sensitive to not placing pressure on players to provide story elements if they're not comfortable with them yet, we can work towards this together! I also tend to focus on the player experience in most game systems, it is, after all, your characters' story that is ultimately at the forefront. To this end, you can expect a highly reactive and immersive world for your character to exist and develop in, as well as frequent challenges--I'm not a fan of making you fight wolves that aren't a challenge in some banal attempt to break up the monotony. Instead, you can expect encounters to be meaningful for progression of the story or adventure at hand! As I briefly mentioned, I have been dozens of peoples' first GM, and really enjoy the experience of getting folks interested in this amazing hobby. While I have (and do) run campaigns for veterans to the hobby, or mixed groups of player skill/knowledge, being inexperienced or not knowing the rulebook front to back is never a problem with me. I'll work with everyone to help them understand 'what's on their sheet' and any other rules you have questions with, without bogging down the experience in areas where it will be complicated.
